I was such a hater before it came out but I actually don’t hate this 

I enjoyed the cover but I will always have a bias/preference for shoegaze/dream pop  it did take me a couple of listens but it clicked - I think the production is very great. 
 
I think what I enjoy the most about it though is that it’s a more unique song for a Lana cover compared to Video Games, Young and Beautiful, Summertime Sadness, etc. I’m glad to hear that her more “deep cut” music is influenced a well known band in the shoegaze/alt 90s music scene.  
 
if you like the track, do check out their first album as it’s great (the track Kick the Tragedy and Winona are great). They’re also probably the most prominent American shoegaze band, which is pretty cool (most of them are from the UK). It was funny - I was listening to Winona recently and there’s a line: “Another record shop story that was born to die”

i am absolutely obsessed w this. it’s so different, this is not ever expected from them! if you like shoegaze you will love! it’s one of my fav songs atm now 
weird floaty vocals, feedback and lyrics/vocals taking the backseat etc is a huge part of shoegaze, it’s a great song if ur into it! 
 
drop nineteen doing heavier vocals in a song in general is a suprise nevermind the lyrics making sense nevermind them being LANA lyrics im having an absolute moment. Goodbye world i’m not tolerating hate on this song
 
also white dress would be a relatable song for many celebrities, saying it’s too personal is a load of bs

Confirmed : Lana’s going to create an album from the perspective as her anonymous identity of a one time character from the Simpsons and finally release her country record ❤️
 

I have absolutely no interest in this BUT I am glad the band teased it, and then released it, in the matter of a day. Imagine waiting for this for weeks. 
 
Some modern artists could learn from the band! This is how you do an announcement/rollout 

Everything about this drop is killing me...like, why are there so many bows? That was never a thing before, even for OB merch where she was wearing a bow on the cover, but now its randomly on every single piece of merch? Plus there's like 3 other artists I can think of that also have bows as their aesthetic and merch.. it's like they're trying to capitalise on the trend but too aggressively

Tbh I want for Lana to promote this album most of all. I hate how there's so little new album content nowadays, the girls aren't going on interviews and magazines like they used to! And ik Lana doesn't care much for that lifestyle but for OB she did more promo than she's done for a while so lets
I also hope there's a hit in there because she deserves that! As for sound, I will eat up literally anything she gives me so I don't mind. It's Lana so it will be good

A few thoughts on this lol…
 
It would make no sense for someone else to cover White Dress because it is extremely personal, it would almost be like someone covering Fingertips lmao. It just would seem odd given it is very specific to Lana’s personal experience. 
 
Also is it possible that the teaser they posted has nothing to do with the song and they just chose it because it mentions 19? 
 
Either way it has been dry for a long time so I’m excited for whatever this is, even if it is just a cover. It would be the better version of White Dress tbh…
