The ribbon graphic is god dam vgly like. Why didn’t they pick or design a better one?
 
It currently looks like frog legs or snakes. It was so confused as to what that was initially. It reminds me of these designs:

The fact that the star is all stretched out is bugging me

her clothing merch hasn’t been good ever to be honest, i never owned any clothing bc i haven’t liked any of it since that one lfl knit that i never got. that’s the only decent thing i can think she’s ever put out other than maybe some of the paradise tour shirts? the racing jacket is a cute idea but so thin. why can’t she HIRE SOMEONE

The merch is so expensive for how ugly and cheap it is

The standard cover reminds me of 2 paintings, one is "la Liberté guidant le peuple" by Delacroix, which also inspired the sculpture for Miss Liberty, if I remember right. Somehow both artworks were related.  So standard and alternate cover really form a unit. Besides I recognize a Napoleon painting. And the vinyl colors are US/French national flag colors combined with Black. Lots of messages, lol. 
 

 
 
It's like mixing Miss Liberty with Botticelli's Venus. Love it. (I feel like she's copying me, lol. I am a photographer and have done a lot of these Black people as ancient paintings photo shoots. 😂) 

I think the pose is resembling of the kind of highly exaggerated displays you find in museums of cowboys etc. Their poses unrealistic and intensely heroic.
 
Also she seems to be playing into the pageantry that comes with this western culture - hence the dramatic, unrealistic and camp pose.
 
But you’re allowed to think it looks unrealistic, this is just my interpretation of the pose

I’m seeing this “the original cover doesn’t make sense! A horse doesn’t move like that, why is she stiff, it looks fake” a lot….
 
Like…..the cover is obviously not going for realism, it’s clearly meant to be stylized, it’s meant to look like a photoshoot. It’s camp.

does anyone know if these album covers were photographed at the same time (Act 1, Act 2, Act 3) 
 
it seems like I read she completed Act 2 before she even released Act1:Renaissance so maybe it is possible she photographed all the covers around the same time? Do we think Act 3 is already photographed ?

The catalyst for this album is still top 5% of Bey performances for me. I go back for the added band arrangments all the time. She looked and sounded stunning, plus incredible that she was in the early stages of being pregnant with Sir and Rumi. PLUS the political move to bring the Chicks with her--whew. So glad she's getting to stick a middle finger to anyone who questioned her right to be on that stage.
 
 

It would be so much better if it was called Cowgirl Carter or even just Cowgirl. I also loved the rumored title Rodeo too.  
 
Also I lowkey need a Taylor collab on this album, I know she is capable of serving a little cunt on a country record.

well what to say…. This is disappointing, the last few years have been so much better. I’m going to buy only the Paramore record and maybe Wallows (I wanted to get Lilly Allen too but it’s a picture disc unfortunately and I just can’t stand them….)
