I’m also shocked and pretty sad to hear this news because he was such a good person at analyzing music. Also, it was so nice just waking up to a new FWR video. He’ll definitely be missed - i hope he likes the new Lana record. 😢

I see some of y’all still displaying copious amounts of tasteless copy-paste one liners about how Kintsugi and/or Fingertips are boring and should have stayed as poems - as if Lana’s writing hasn’t at least since 2017 been merging the two art forms consistently. Sweetie, then go listen to old Lana, who is stopping you? The albums still exist, they haven’t vanished.
Literally BTD to NFR is “old skool” Lana. That’s 6 albums worth of music. Some peoples entire careers consists of 6 albums. She has more than enough content for all types of fans.

I love the idea of Assai putting Obi strips on their records to create an exclusive feel to the pressing, and the idea of supporting local record stores is dope! and it’s a cute homage to Japanese pressings
My only gripes I have with this company is they put little-to-no-effort in designing these strips. If you look at Japanese obi strips, there’s a lot of text and info about the album/artist, and there’s better design composition. The graphic designer behind these aren’t really creative tbh. It feels like they literally google translates the artist’s name on top of a strip of paper, and they called it a day. I hope they are not charging extra or more than retail price because that would be a huge rip-off.
There’s not even a premium feel to it because they write on the strip with a Sharpie, when they can have something pressed or debossed on top.
Sorry, for complaining but I also bought an Assai record from them once, and was very underwhelmed w their “exclusive” pressing.

im happy for her, I hope she sees it and feels proud (I know she watches a lot of YouTubers lol)
his only criticism was that fishtail was unflattering and sounded unfinished, and that the last few tracks needed to be better contextualised - and I totally agree with that.
