me too ugh imagine a whole album with new songs and a whole album with unreleased songs.

Chemtrails over the country club about her girlfriends and fam? THIS IS WHAT MAKES US GIRLS 2.0 CONFIRMED

honestly after her being able to find her people, or just find some kind of bonding w them, after bartender, and hope from nfr. it always just seemed like that's how she might've started w this one.

country and folk...more stripped down the nfr...jackoff...a nightmare a literal nightmare.. If this is true I'm just gonna pretend this isn't canon and lana del rey hasn't released an album since honeymoon ? folk and country need to be left to dolly parton and thats that

Dealer could  top West Coast. At least it sounds like it could be one of her best songs ever:kris:

And we can see country/ midwest vibes in TJF lyrics

And I think with Country/ Folk Lana means songs like Pawnshop Blues, Oh say can you see maybe even For K Part 2 or some acoustic guitar songs like her May Jailer stuff or Yosemite

And I don't think the whole album will sound like that. TJF Snippet doesn't sound like Country or Folk to me.

But I'm sure Lana will deliver. Even LFL had some career highlights on it !!

Personally  I think that this album will be amazing but  I'm trying to keep my expectations low

"Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. It’s about trying to find beauty in giving up. If I had my way, I would continue to persist in all areas of my life, but it can be quite challenging because I can be too trusting too soon."

Tracklist so far:

1. Let Me Love You Like a Woman

2. Tulsa Jesus Freak

3. Chemtrails Over the Country Club

4. White Dress/Waitress

5. Dealer*

*She mentioned Dealer being a song she might put on the album, but this interview was done in June/July, so it's possible she decided to put it on after all (and there's a chance she didn't, but let's just say she did) :creep:

Is Lana ever completely on point when she compares her music to a genre though

Hmmm I think only once and that was Honeymoon, she said it was jazzy with some muddy trap undertones and honestly, she nailed it...

She thought Lust For Life was like 70's girl group vibes, NFR! had elements of surf and Red Hot Chilli Peppers vibes (apparently)... So maybe there's like one country song on this record.

Honestly I don’t get why people hate country so much? I mean if it’s country pop like that cringey Luke Bryan then I can understand people’s dissatisfaction, but country/folk can be pretty damn good

Personally it’s not that I don’t like country. I’ve been through my country phase but I’ve grown out of it. I don’t like the idea of doing a country record because it’s like ‘beyonce did her version of country’ ‘lady gaga did her version of country’ ‘alicia keys did her version of country’ you know what I mean? It has been done before, it’s expected and it’s not ground-breaking. That is why BTD and UV will always be unmatched to me. HM is obviously also great but she was already starting to explore the trap beats that were going around at the time. I know it’s unrealistic to expect that an artist’s work be always defining and show stopping and never been heard before (specially with big artists like Lana where sales are involved and expected) but in general that is where I stand with any artist. If I get the sense that they are following the market rather than shaping it or - at the bare minimum - working outside of it, I get itchy.

The more we learn about Chemtrails, the more it feels like it’s going to be the “Moon album” to Norman’s “Sun album”. Let Me Love You is how she wants to be loved as opposed to Norman which is how a man loves... Bartender vs Waitress... She said she mentions her friends and siblings in Chemtrails, she said was inspired by zodiac signs... The affection, the mystery: all Moon elements.

**She performed them live with Jack Antonoff and they are original songs (written after the NFR! sessions), both lean into the country/folk genre she's teased for this record, therefore we shouldn't rule them out from being included on the album

I’m just shocked she didn’t use the term ‘sonically’ During the interview.

"It's kind of like sonic country. I love it."

Why is everyone worried so much about this whole country thing? Country Club in title of the album is this:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Country_club, and definitely not a club where they play country music, periodt. Even when it is, we could construe this as- Chemtrails (toxicity in relationships Lana had) over the Country Club (a place, where older men usually go and drink etc.) ? her mind!

I was talking about the interview... she said that the sound Of the album is new folk/country.
I know what a country club is
