the btd demos are great but tbh emile really made all those songs so cinematic and elegant. i think part of what makes btd so memorable is the mary jane sample that's used in almost every song, it's like the key instrument to the entire album

I really agree that the sample is a really cool touch, its so crazy to me that something as relatively insignificant as a 2 second scream at the audience from an old live performance resonated with someone enough that they chose to incorporate it into a song almost like its another instrument.

I feel like that sound is something Rick Nowels attempted to channel in that low male voice that says “Yup” in the instrumental of Cherry

people may think that born to die is overproduced and overrated, but there's no doubt that it's an iconic and timeless album, pretty much every track on the album still sounds fresh and vibrant, and the album has what i believe to be, one of her all time best songs lyrically, off to the races, that song is liquid gold.

I really want some country-roads, gritty, road-trip-on Route 66 aesthetics so I made this back cover, inspired by the gorgeous cover  @normanrockweII made, with a bit of a Bruce Springsteen/Johnny Cash influence!

Not to constantly bring up Tori Amos but I am here for a boys for pele moment with 4 sections of the album each being opened with a shorter interlude song. HER BREAKUP ALBUM IS COMING

(I thought I posted this hours ago)

so do we think we are getting to page 2000 before the album comes out :brows:

emile's style is so unique and magnetic

Magnetic, electric and everybody knows it.  When you play his instrumentals every woman's head turns, everyone turns up the volume to hear it. This hybrid mix of Hip Hop and Cinematic Orchestra could only be done by a man as magnificent as him.
And in that way I understood him
and I loved him
I loved him, I loved him, I loved him.
And I still love him.
I love him.

I agree; Born to Die is SUCH a timeless record! It sounds new and fresh every time I listen, to be honest I don’t think it will ever age

I LOVE Tori Amos and I think that with Lana moving away from LA and metaphorically traveling across the south west with her music we could def have Scarlet's Walk vibezzz which is my favorite album of hers!

everything about the born to die era is so magical, a lot of lana stans dislike it now because it's her most overrated work but nobody will ever come close to it. the production, lyrical content, live performances and music videos are all untouchable  :pray2:

i love you, but you don't understand me.

now i feel like this isn't coming until late October, early November

I asked Asmodeus (the demon of lust) to make Miley Cyrus suffer. I am not happy with these new developments. After Miley rips off Lana's aesthetic, she bullies Lana into changing her release date. It is infuriating.

I'm so anxious because while I believe it's coming this month (just because they didn't change the intro in the online article) it's weird that she hasn't said anything officially about the album and we are almost halfway through September... :uncomfortable:

Maybe she will announce everything at the same time when she releases LMLYLAW

wait why do y'all think it isn't coming till October/november now??? what did I miss?

no reason in particular, but since we still have no news (and it's already september 8), and that magazine article was written back in july or smth, it might just be the september date on it is just a prediction rather than an actual, hard fact

i doubt anything’s coming at this point :\ disappointed but not surprised

“disappointed but not surprised” - a 2020 theme. I was hoping Lana would pull through but it feels like all she did was pull out...

I don't understand why she's not releasing anything

even if the album doesn't come this month, and even if she still wanna change some tracks,

why can't she release a promo single?

... and is it even a surprise if we're all just waiting impatiently?

It's just weird to me how even the magazine doesn't have an actual release date but just "later this month" unless she really plans for a "surprise release", in COCC's case that would just be a surprise date release. :um:
