Grammy Awards 2024 - Lana Del Rey Nominated for 5 Awards

Recommended Posts

Btw, won't judge on TS intentions while dragging Lana to stage, but if I were Lana the last thing I would have wanted during that moment (having had 5 nominations and got AGAIN not a single award while seeing how they go to people like TS) is to be exposed directly to all of that people having to smile from the damn stage. Don't think that making her feeling forced to went there was a good move.

some of the meltdowns are scaring me :nene: it's not that serious guys it's just an award show, it's never personal, it's just business. that's all grammy is: business. it was never about recognizing talent, it's strictly business. and hate to break it to some of you, but so is every other major award. i know i'm not helping by saying this while having a beyoncé (the person with the most awards ever) pfp but even with her it's not about recognizing her talent but rather the grammys using her as their black token. even jay-z spoke about tonight. so, everyone save your tears and time, it's not worth it

I know Taylor probably meant well but holy crap it must feel bad to be dragged on stage to be with someone who won a category you were nominated for (let alone should have won). I don't think it's malicious on Taylor's part but it still annoyed me seeing how uncomfortable Lana was. A part of me feels like this was yet again another one of Taylor's pseudo girl power moments but idk, I'm also aware I have my biases against Taylor considering how I always get phony vibes out of her.

If I had lost a nomination I would be honoured if the winner mentioned me in their speech or said I am a legend, even more so if they wanted me to be on stage as well to share the moment with them. You want to turn even the good deeds into a tragedy.

I mean in fairness, don't hang out with the biggest artist on the planet rn and expect to not have maximum exposure at the Grammys :oopna2:

If I wanted to just sit in the corner quietly, I wouldn't turn up with Taylor fkn Swift

I'm not blaming Lana at all; I'm just saying it comes with the territory and I'm sure she expected to have the camera on her a lot given her company. And most of all, I think she was really happy for Taylor.

Exactly! Girl just lost all categories and she's probably feeling some type of way about it. This is yet another instance of Taylor being kinda insensitive since she's literally always the safe choice for the academy to give the wins to. I can't imagine how she'll be like if someone dragged her to be on stage with if/when she loses something given how award-centric Taylor is based on her documentary.

Idk, this whole thing just makes me feel off but that's my opinion.

Love this:  "If I wanted to just sit in the corner quietly, I wouldn't turn up with Taylor fkn Swift."

So true. It's a great publicity moment for Lana at least. Let's look at it this way. Even more Taylor groupies might tune into Lana now, and that mean more money for Lana.

yeah I kinda agree but at the same time I do like the fact that she took time to acknowledge Lana's impact, influence and also her collaboration on the record

Midnights was tied in with the Eras Tour, I know the grammys is supposed to be about music rather than popularity, but I'm not at all surprised that Taylor won.

I hope Lana knows that she's had a huge impact both on the industry and the fans anyway and doesn't need a Grammy to validate that

I just watched the video of Taylor forcing Lana to go on that stage... :nene: she clearly didn't wanted it you can even see her saying 'noo' like what the hell. And for what? To make her stand in the shadow? I don't like Taylor even more now. It was really disrespectful

When Taylor is giving her speech you can CLEARLY see Jack telling Lana to come closer... You guys are acting as if you didn't know how Lana is on stage. Taylor probably knows her more than we do so don’t wanna call her out from what seems on the surface.

honestly I am a bit surprised at how bad-faith people are being about Taylor,  I guess anything she does is prone to getting construed into a thousand different things, but I fail to see in what universe Taylor wanting to highlight Lana on that stage and literally saying in so many words that the Grammys have been snubbing her is supposed to be a bad thing or disrespectful

obviously it would be better if Lana won and was appreciated on her own merits and this wasn’t happening in the first place, but considering that that’s not the case, I really think this was a genuine - if maybe not entirely well thought out - gesture

I put down my phone for the night when i saw she had lost in the alternative categories (where i thought she might have a better chance of winning). Must have had a hunch it was over then. It’s honestly so sad for her.

Yet still you can clearly see her saying 'no' and Taylor still was grabbing her hand which is disrespectful. It is not okay

Y'all, Lana had literally no other choice than going on that stage. That's exactly why Taylor dragged her... she's the only other artist featured on Midnights. If she wasn't at the ceremony of course but not only was she there, she was sitting at the same table... That's not a question of wanting to go lol. Clearly she didn't want to, that's why she chose to stay apart. It must have been totally humiliating and that's so sad but it's absolutely not Taylor's doing, she was actually helping her and doing her a favor.
