one of what i presume neil krugs team members that worked with lana on the henry photo shoot is the main insider of this era so far. this old news but just incase people didnt know it seems that hes teasing that the album cover is shot and its beautiful. he replied to comments also teasing that were getting more of this photo shoot eventually. but this probably means that vinyls are just now being processed so TRPWS is probably expected in june

Anyway I actually think it would be interesting for her to play WTWWAW since it was made as a response to Trumps presidency/the state of politics in general. Seems like a bit of a statement to play a song with the lyrics “is it the end of America” at a country music festival.

My theory on this day, April 3rd:

 

Lana and Jack had a solid country track run at one point in 2023.

In early 2024, at that Jack award acceptance event, Lana announced country album "Lasso" is slated for September release. All was well with the tentative release date.

After February 2024, BEYONCE and all the big stars announced country albums and Lana thought "shit."

She said "Geez, what can I say now," in an interview, meaning, "how can I possibly do the same thing everyone else is doing and call myself an artist and envelope pusher?"

There was probably a bit of "is this too country? Do I even sound like myself?" also, which she's alluded to in another interview.

She went back to the studio to rework 'Lasso' into ore 'Americana' and 'southern gothic,' but then Jack wasn't so much available, she's had to get Zach and other folks on. That's when Jack said "Let's not talk about "Lasso" in another interview - he knew shit is in for another year of hard work and waiting around because, essentially, Lasso was scrapped. 

Producers like Zach put in the work, but Lana didn't like it ("even if it's super stripped back, I want it to be just right"),. And then production takes time, mastering takes time...

In November, she changed the record name from "Lasso" to "Person blah blah" to reflect this shift in sound.

She thought she will drop two singles before Stagecoach, but the record just wasn't ready yet. Maybe she's waiting for Jack to find some time from being Taylor's and everyone else's bell boy, and add his magic touch

And there you have it: more than 2 years have gone past and we don't even have a single.

What's annoying is that all this is completely normal and part of the artistic process, and we just have to get on with it. It means Lana, unlike so many, isn't winging it. (Just look at Dua Lipa's last abortion of a record).

That being said, personally: I'd rather she just dropped the country record.

Because why not?

She's done rock, she's done folk, she'd done pop, she's done jazz, why not country?

Everyone else doing it? Who gives a shit.

 

There, that's my theory. At this point, I think "soon" meant that she will debut Henry a day before Stage Coach or on the exact day, and premier it there.
