way to completely miss my point lmao

yep guess i’m a rape apologist for not wanting to “cancel” Kim over a business relationship that i know nothing about. do i think she should continue working with him?? no. am i putting money in dr puke’s pockets by illegally downloading kim’s songs?? no.
cancel culture doesn’t work. whether or not Kim comes to her senses & stops working with him, she’ll continue her career. all this outrage has done is bring more attention & streams to the EP.

Stop using this "cancel culture doesn't work" bs. Nobody sane in this thread expects every person on the planet to stop streaming her music, we are calling her out on her bullshit. Also, this is us talking on Lanaboards which is a very small website compared to other social media. I don't think we're bringing that much attention to the situation to people who don't already know about it. And would you rather us say...nothing? Also, outrage does work and can make change. If we let it slide that she works with Dr. Luke, more artists will be comfortable working with him and start giving him a platform to hurt more women. Even if it does give her more attention in the short run, in the grand scheme people will just remember her as a rape apologist who chose money over morals, it's not like her getting attention for working with a rapist is giving her a core fanbase :rip: Sure, she can continue her career all she wants but that by no means says it will be as successful as it could be if she wasn't known for being problematic. Building a career on controversies doesn't work well in the pop music industry especially as a female, maybe YouTube and TikTok would be a better place for her if that's what she's into. Idc if you stream her music illegally, but don't get mad at us for discussing and criticizing her decision to support rapists publicly.

i’m not mad at anyone here lol all i did was give my opinion and suddenly i’m a rape apologist. :rip:

when honestly i agree with most of the points you made in your post & some others here. the problem I had is the way some people immediately start insulting other users for not agreeing 100% or still enjoying the music.

that’s all.

Why are people so concerned about attacking a small artist rather than the actual rapist? What if she didn't have a better option? I bet you would take a job if you had an amazing opportunity but a horrible boss.

girl like.... i swear to god (im not believer) i would never work with a rapist LMAO, not in any world. there are thousands producers out there, i could do without getting a help from a rapist... this should be the common knowledge but it seems that people stopped using their brains for a while... this is sick and twisted. omfg. LOCK THE LANABOARDS!:awkney:

and like.. GIRL... WHERE IS THE AMAZING OPPORTUNITY SKSKSKSKKN only twitter gheys listen to her songs skdkdkdkffk. you make it seem as if she is popular among the gp and this is the amazing opportunity that the rapist provided her. i-

I’m just going to speak my truth here, however unpopular it may be. This is the most excited I’ve been about any album in I seriously don’t know how long. I’ve missed this kind of empowering, hype (not hyper) pop so much. I love the oversexualization of it. The lyrics and vibes generally just make me laugh and smile. Just hearing the beginning of Slut Pop makes me smile.

I love how dedicated she’s been to her “porn era” like what she did for her website. I just think it’s fun, empowering, and I love it. I think it’s genius. I don’t like that she’s working with Dr. Luke or Larry Rudolf, but l I want her and the album to succeed and do well because I enjoy it so much, plus the trans representation. I want this kind of pop to come back.

Call me a rape apologist, lacking in taste, or whatever you want, but this album and era made me fan. I’ll be steaming it and might even buy it to show my support. And I like it better than anything else she’s done previously.

and you call yourself a britney fan

Me enjoying and supporting an album isn’t going to change that. Thanks for being so judgmental though.

This bandwagoning and moral superiority attitude that online anonymity fosters is not how real face-to-face conversations work. I miss when people were more empathetic and open minded to views that weren’t their own.

Why not agree to disagree instead of insulting me? Enjoy your high horse I guess.

brain rot.

how do you you even call yourself a rape apologist or label yourself that and not feel sick…

I didn’t label myself that. You did. And I said I didn’t care if you did because opinions of strangers on the internet about who I am do not matter to me.

i mean... i hate Luke and y'all have every right to crticize her on working with him, but she's literally worth like how much? $5m now? She's very successful even if she's only known by gay community.

I'm pretty sure she would've been successful without Luke but the ugly truth is she's achieved what she's achieved with Luke-produced songs and he's still pretty influental and provided her with many opportunities. It sucks but it's true.

All of this!! What gets me is that you can share the same beliefs as someone else, but if you don’t express them in the same exact way, your character is put into question & all sorts of disgusting insults directed at you are apparently OK. The first few years of lanaboards wasn’t like this, people could disagree (or even just share different perspectives of the same opinion) and actually have a respectful conversation about it. Not anymore unfortunately.
