Damn so many ppl unstanning here its depressing but i feel the same. I really thought i would stan her till i die but this piano poetry thing is not it

Yeah no this is exactly what it is. When I listened, I pictured the lyrics typed up on a page like in Violet and heard her reciting them like the spoken word. Maybe that's my own fault because I have very good imagination, but they just seemed to fit. 
And I'm not even saying that there's anything inherently wrong with turning a poem into a song, just that, coupled with the very bare instrumentation, that's how these seem to me. 
I enjoy them for what they are but I don't find them to be fully developed songs, especially not when compared to her past work. Music is part of a song and the instrumentation in these doesn't match the lyrical depth and emotion and I find it jarring. 
The argument can be made that that was done so as not to overwhelm her (Mike said as much) but at what point does the music just become inconsequential? And then if it's inconsequential then why is it even there and why aren't the words presented as just a poem to give them focus, and therein lies my issue. 

I really didn’t care for the new tracks and Mike Dean’s production really underwhelmed me. I feel like I’m missing something with these tracks but I guess that’s how some people felt when NFR was released. I do like Textbook overall but the BLM line is cringy sorry 

yeah idk what she was thinking with these “singles” 
 
honestly now that it’s been a few months since cocc released, i can say it’s a pretty weak album besides tjf, the title track and white dress (in that order ). all of the rest of the songs are forgettable
 
what’s really sad is these 3 singles are also v forgettable and i’m scared for the rest of the album 
 
i’m even starting to appreciate nfr more and more now

Cocc is literrally just NFR B-Sides tbh
Like most of the songs even tho are lyrically good have pretty weak instrumentals. To me this album seems rushed and she should have just done what she did with Paradise and release it as an EP to complete NFR

Rick Nowels was the GOAT. I miss him on Lana's production.

I listened to the new songs just twice because they don't have replay value imo

I feel that Wildflower Wildfire is going to be on the level of Venice Bitch and West Coast 

Idk if this topic has been made before but I want to discuss intros and outros. Lana has some of the most captivating intros that make me stop dead in my tracks and outros that make me also stop dead in my tracks and take an already brilliant song to another level before it's over. Imo these are moments that make her such a singular artist
 
My favourite intros are:
1. Honeymoon - The double bass with the glissando violins girl so glamorous and dark and BEAUTIFUL it's a pinnacle Lana Del Rey moment for me it's perfect there's nobody else that could pull this off Honeymoon is just beyond
 
2. California - So heartbreaking and gorgeous I remember not being excited for this song based on the snippet but this intro alone (and the rest of the song) cemented California in my hall of fame 
 
3. The Greatest - Same as Cali just so bittersweet and the guitar sounds delicious The Greatest is my fav song on NFR
 
Fav outros:
1. The Greatest - The first time I heard this outro I felt s*icidal I was not prepared for the despair of this and the solo piano at the end to really give me space to think about all that's gone wrong and continues to go wrong in my life = ) One of the most impactful musical moments for me ever I still boohoo to this song
 
2. Off To The Races - Period

I finally finished my COTCC t-shirt and wanted to share with y'all! I tie-dyed a white t-shirt, then fully hand painted it with fabric ink and a brush (no machines, no stencils, only my hand and a brush I swear). I might say the logo was painful to paint tho... Those serifs took away my will to live   lol. But everything turned out fine in the end. Hope you like it! Spam Lana so she hires me to create some merch for Blue Bannisters maybe????   hahaha a dream.

I hope you all like it! It's been a long time coming, but my design helpers and I put a lot of thought and work into it and wanted to make sure it was just right. Just in time to celebrate Chemtrails's 4 week anniversary!
