I've been eagerly following what Miss Lana has been cooking up and might I just say that COCC has me more excited than I was for NFR. Not just the damn acronym being actual COCC (absolute legend) but the fact that she has been slowly reverting to an image of hers more carved out like the past (pre-LFL).
With a few to mention: her Familyheirlooms tiktok name, Bel Air, her nails and lashes, the old pictures/movie clip, the allusion to 'luxury' in country clubs, and the insta post defending her past lyrical exploration. 
 
Now I might be a complete clown drawing up these conclusions, and trying to cling onto that something that's well in the past.. But I feel that she does this aesthetic so well. It's the reason I was pulled to her in the first place. Her enigmatic glamorous escapades through a 50s/60s cinematic scope. A visionary of her time (yep I said that  )

Me too! I would love to see her in a country club-esque setting, lounging poolside all glammed up 

i'd love another music to watch boys to type video where lana's just sitting around looking pretty while some vintage movie clips are placed throughout

Last night I dreamed that Lana released her first single from White Hot Forever and it was called something like"Before I went to LA ". It doesn't include  psychedelic rock vibes which I'm hoping for and I was upset about that. The only thing I can remember else is that the song had some drums and I think there was a keyboard and it had some bass.

It’s so hard to say without generalizing, but I feel like part of the draw could be that Lana appeals to the gay affinity for camp — especially in the BtD era, Lana verged on campiness, even though she seemed to take it all very seriously. Her meld of influences also ticks some classic ‘gay culture’ boxes, what with pop music/classic Hollywood glamour/etc. — and then she exaggerates it all, creating a perfect, campy, gay storm.
 
I think that’s at least part of the reason that her persona switch to wannabe-baddie White Girl Wednesday matcha drinker at Churchome has jarred the fan base so much — unreality and excess has always been a part of Lana’s story, and knowingly or not could be the reason a lot of people were drawn in — especially the gay fans.
