for the people who are saying the taylor's versions are a cash grab it might seem that way to y'all but she's literally trying to devalue the original versions considering all of them are +10m selling albums with 3 being above 20m

Exactly, like, we know by now that Lana prefers to stay away from the limelight. She promotes her friends and family more than herself, she wants to be sure they get to shine and don't want much attention. She even made sure all the collaborators were mentioned on the cover art for DYKTTATUOB, most artists would just leave that on a sticker on the plastic wrapping. It surprised me at first when we got to hear her collab with BORNS (bleh) but she's been doing this over and over again. Cat Power, Father John Misty (with Buddy's Rendevouz, not Let the light in), BORNS, and now Taylor. I think it's unfair to be mad at Taylor for this when it's clear (to me) that it's Lana that prefers to stay in the background. Which is what Taylor also explained. It's unfortunate, because Lana has a special voice, but it is what she prefers.

This was fun news to wake up to. I should have have known not to open this thread.
Although I have to say, Lana fans being angry about hearing more Lana in a couple of days, is peak lanaboards.

based off the recent posts in this thread, it makes it so easy to tell who spends most of their time on stan twitter. it’s clear that there’s some underlying hate for taylor in here.  like i’m not even a big taylor fan but this is just ridiculous

it’s one thing to call this a cash grab.. which I’ll admit it kinda is, but some of you guys are taking it way too personally. It can’t be good for your health

i never understood the whole cash-grabbing thing… like isn’t making money the goal?  and also how else is taylor supposed to fund all these high-budget videos, tours, etc… like might as well get mad at lana for making all those variants. there really is nothing wrong with what she’s doing because at the end of the day.. she’s doing it for the fans. i just find it so weird that people are complaining about this

I feel like there's too much effect/filter on Lana's voice, which is probably why some people said it sounds like AI.
    Regardless, it's a cute song.

At the end of the day it was Lana who decided to just sing the backing vocals, on the other hand we will now have two versions to enjoy and one of them re-recorded and with more Lana Del Rey

girl, Lana literally has released more vinyl variants of her past few albums that Taylor has. try again

Midnights has 5 variants. Ocean Blvd has 7.
Evermore had 2 variants. Blue Banisters had 4.
Folklore has 9 (10 if you count the live RSD)... Chemtrails has ELEVEN.
NFR had 4.... Reputation only had 2.
The Fearless, Red, and Speak Now Taylor's Versions each only have two variants.

By your logic, Lana must be the most pathetic, money-grabbing artist out there

My take on what went on is this:
Taylor wanted Lana on the album, Lana agreed, Lana didn’t think she’d be the only feature of the album so she did what Lana loves to do on a collab: let the other artist shine (see the long list of collabs where she is only back-vocaling). Taylor wanted Lana to do more but Lana didn’t think it would be necessary for the song and Taylor went with it because she was already grateful to have Lana in the first place.
but who knows what happened in the end.

She literally explained it in the video WHY it's a behind the scene video, so you can't get rid of the behind the scene footage just because you want more professional footage of Lana serving looks. The behind the scenes stuff is the whole point, so it makes sense why most of it is the behind the scenes not the actual professional shots. She clearly has a vision and I think it executed pretty well.
