I love Lana so much and her music is pure magic but it sucks knowing we will never get a big era like Born To Die with performances and promo, magazine shoots, and CONSISTENCY with the image of BTD... I know Lana needs to feel free to create her art but I just feel like she would benefit from someone helping her shape whatever image she's going to use fro the next era so everything can be consistent and well rolled out because she has a hard time staying focused on one thing.

Me when I’m asked why Black Bathing Suit, Dealer, and Text Book are my favorite tracks on Blue Banisters

Black Bathing Suit’s chorus has such a sexy western movie vibe like ahhh

I don’t trust people who skip Wildflower Wildfire. Truly one of her most majestic and poetic songs in her whole discography.

    if you mean

writing songs about something that possibly never happened, creating new worlds with your music, using captivating language with scenarios and allegories > writing songs about literally anything and anyone without proper editing like any diary entry, making the result seem like you're bored to even try to come up with something exciting

then I must admit, I agree

    lana's old songwriting > lana's recent/current songwriting

i personally think aka is perfect the way it is, i couldn't imagine anything about it being changed, i used to think the tracklisting was off-putting, but now i think it's perfect since it's so different & unique, but i can understand why some people may think that brite lites is a weak track, but i think having a track like that balances out the more "rock" inspired tracks, since i think it goes with the vibe of mermaid motel & kill kill well, the album is very diverse, yet balanced, there's "surfy" cool-toned tracks like kill kill, mermaid motel, & brite lites, "rock" inspired tracks, like queen of the gas station, for k, pt. 2, jump, & raise me up (mississippi south), ballads like oh say can you see, pawn shop blues, & yayo), & "pop" inspired tracks like gramma (blue ribbon sparkler trailer heaven), put me in a movie, & smarty, i think it's structure & soundscape is so intriguing & maybe even a little genius

i will say though, i am TOTALLY here for the existence of david kahne versions of trash magic, disco, & get drunk!

I don't know how unpopular this is, but Trash Magic, Disco or Get Drunk should've been put on AKA instead of Brite Lites. The Steve Mertens demo is fantastic, but the final version is kind of a disaster?? Like, I like and it's fun, but it's really incohesive with the album and is generally a track I'd survive without. The only part of the final version I really love is the "the film is fading look at me" section

Nah don't worry it will be a full song. An insider who I'm not at liberty to disclose, confirmed that the interlude is the longest song on the album (18 minutes), features Skrillex, Cardio B, Bruce Springsteen & ad libs from Chief Keef & Lana's farts. I truly cannot wait.

Does anyone think Lana will ever evolve from the NFR/acoustic LFL sound at this point?

Maybe I'm behind but I'm starting to think she dubbed Lust For Life as "an album for the fans" because she was done with making albums with big cinematic production and high budget music videos. Lust for life is the closest thing to BTD which she obviously tried to mimic that sound in some ways even if it wasn't as good but it was almost like a farewell, I think she's officially done with trying anymore lol, we already know she was working on NFR shortly after LFL (she mentioned bartender & hope at the grammys) she hardly puts effort into her shows or music videos obviously and she said her next album will be Norman's little sister and said it would be a surprise release which just means less promo (not like she does much in the first place) and probably no visuals besides the album covers and some miscellaneous photoshoots chuck takes in her backyard.
It's not a drag but I just don't see her putting any effort into an era again or branching out with her sound anymore, like seriously I think she'll be making surprise release acoustic/simple production albums the rest of her career

This is the best song she’s EVER WRITTEN. I wish she would put this on an album that she releases.

okay hopefully someone will know what i'm talking about & i'm not crazy but--

there was an email lana sent to a friend with an early version of this song attached and the filename was "Rayse Me Up" or something to that effect. so i definitely think it's a reference to ray.
