It's an expression meaning something is so exactly as expected that it's cliche' or bog-standard-- she's saying in a slightly self-deprecating way that you could put her in the dictionary or the psych textbook under "daddy issues". I love it; it really is a clap-back to all the haters who have slammed her for calling men "daddy" in her songs (although that was ages ago-- we know she holds a grudge!).

Not sure if it’s been said already but “to light up your nights” puts me in mind of Stevie Nicks’ duet with Don Henley “Leather & Lace”. The male voice sings “I knew with you to light my nights, somehow I’d get by.”

It could be about physical abuse that sent her to the hospital, but I interpret this song as about mental/psychological abuse that sent her to the psych ward (behind the iron gates!). I feel like most dads would step in if mom was physically attacking a child but might think it's "just" mom/daughter stuff if mom and daughter are verbally fighting, not realizing how much it hurt Lana.

Or I may be projecting, ngl  Anyway, this song hits hard, and I don't think there's any coming back from her estrangement with Patty after publicly reducing her to "Dad's wife".

I am 99% genuinely terrified that she is going to end up dead or institutionalized from overwork and the stress of reacting to mean things said about her on the internet.
I am 1% selfishly thrilled because COCC era, while lovely, seemed to be about finding a nice guy and settling down in suburbia, whereas I love edgy, chaotic Lana.

And I am picturing WTF a tracklist of revenge about claims her "career is built on cultural appropriation and glamorizing domestic abuse" would be:

    1. "I Hate You, Patty"
    2. "I Hate The Media"
    3. "He Hit Me And I Fucking Loved It, Fuck You"
    4. "Dealer"

...with a picture of her in a Native American headdress for the cover.
