I just can't stop listening to WW. I don't understand people that say the non-Jack production didn't bring any change to the sound. Her voice is so much clearer, the are so many layers, it all sounds so much wider and more melodic. I love it so much

YESSS. That last minute is so good. Honestly the whole song is just fucking impeccable. Her lyrics and delivery unmatched
Stardust... Stardrip IVs.. his wife... sheer willpower... it’s you from whom I learn... so many amazing moments. But that last minute remains FLAWLESS

On youtube it‘s the one with the most views.

WW‘s last minute kills me more than on the first day

I have a theory, it might be a reach but I want to share it anyway. Her title tracks have always either been the first or the second songs on her albums. And I see her albums as pairs: UV is the follow up to BTD (the consequences of fame and how destructive it can be, while also being in a unhealthy relationship). BTD is track 1 and UV track 2. Then there’s LFL as the follow up to HM. HM is the idealisation of love, but again it didn’t work and LFL being her journey to go from the black to the blue and figuring out why she couldn’t put her life together in the past. HM is track 1, LFL track 2. And finally, there’s NFR, COTCC and BB. Unlike her other albums, I see these three as a trio. NFR is an insight of her daily life, daily thoughts, she started being really introspective with this album. NFR is track 1. Then she released COTCC, where she reveals more of her past and continues the introspection. COTCC is track 2, and the album is clearly a continuation of NFR. But here’s the thing: I think BB will be the continuation of the two previous album, being even more introspective and expressing even deeper things. If NFR is her daily life and COTCC more about her past and her relation to fame, BB will be a mixture of both. Which leads me to think that for once, she’ll break the pattern and BB will be track 3.

If people let's start criticizing this photo, she will use it as the album cover. Reverse psychology, let's go! lol

The REAL tea is that people are going out of there way to drag the songs because they realized they can't use Jack Antonoff as a scapegoat anymore for why Lana went down a singer/songwriter path, creating atmospheric, poetic and melancholic songs instead of what they want: loud and bombastic. Their natural response, instead of saying and admitting to themselves  "oh, I'm just not really into this new direction she's going in" is to call them "objectively bad." There's no more scapegoat to blame for Lana's artistic process.

After sitting with these songs for over a day, I have to say I do love them all. Blue Banisters might be my favorite, followed closely by Text Book (those gospel choirs my god they add so much), and Wildflower Wildfire (still good, but not as godly as the other two).

I can’t help but feel like the majority of people are projecting their opinions of her on their opinions of these songs because it makes literally no sense to consider them “bad”. Some of the critiques I’ve read are absolutely senseless. (Apart from the mastering which could be a lil better, and the Black Lives Matter line, which I don’t find issue with but I understand why some people think it feels a little weird)

Lana has claimed she wants David Lynch to direct one of her videos. Listening to Text Book, I realized it's the perfect song for him to direct. They are a match made in heaven. Why can't someone make it happen?

I never minded the selfie and although I miss the BTD mega-glam and UV rocker chick vibes, an album cover isn’t super important to me (although I know it is to some people) and will gladly buy the car selfie on vinyl

I think the very first BB picture (the selfie with Blue Banisters in blue that @Diamantes WILD posted) has strong ‘album cover’ vibes since it clearly wasn’t the single cover, but when the music speaks for itself I don’t mind what the cover is. My only real complaint is getting the same selfie for all three songs, but them all being slightly different, I’d prefer them to be the same.

Lana uploading that selfie on social media and using the same selfie for the single covers

I am not really surprised by the low numbers of the three singles. The songs are excellent, but to release three songs at once with zero promo, the songs need to be bombastic to speak on their own and to appeal to the masses. The three are so introspective, and I guess the « casual BTD listener » doesn’t click with them?!?

Wildflower Wildfire is definitely in my top 10, and I think it'll climb higher. My chest hurts and I'm nearly crying because of the way it's compressing into me.

I think her management have just given up now tbh. Remember it was Ben who forced her to do a better cover for NFR and it turned out so amazing, especially compared to the shit she was going to use. Lana seems to just be doing whatever she wants now visually tbh, these new single covers are genuinely hideous.

Edit: just saw her Billboard pic, LOL guuuuuurl, she takes pics like my Grandma posting on Facebook before she died.

Listening to TB on headphones for the first time, I'm in the dark it's midnight and the choir in the second verse has me physically weeping. SO beautiful. A church-like experience. Finding God in this woman's voice. This is A Song. It lowkey annoys me the title is so nondescript cause it's soooo special I wish it had a name that, idk, was to the level of the music if that makes sense haha. Also her voice sounds so low compared to the instruments idk if that's my headphones

I really, really like all three songs, and to me, are some of her best works lyrically. I can hear the pain in her voice, too. It’s so vulnerable. I want to give her a hug.

It’s amazing I can’t think of a stronger linear progression of an artist than Lana. With each release—especially since NFR!—she has really been all about becoming a whole lot more off beat, disregarding structure, less editing in lyrics, more honest and direct in themes and ideas. The songs require so many repeat listens to really grasp.

I was just listening to This Is What Makes Us Girls and Hope is a dangerous thing... back to back earlier this week and was like wow It went from cringe to legendary
