Anyone seen the new A24 movie X? I saw it last night because I’m obsessed with Mia Goth and her acting choices are always so interesting (Nymphomaniac, Cure for Wellness etc.) and am super intrigued with Jenna Ortega, I loved the movie I thought it was great, I’m seeing a few people slating it though saying it’s nothing special but I think if you’re a proper horror fan who gets all the homages and little nods to other horror classics and classic horror ways of editing/filming then you’ll love this movie it’s so much fun

Do any of you who are here in the United States have a Tubi account, which are free? All of the movies have commercial breaks, but they're not obnoxious. Picture quality is excellent.

Tubi has a lot of garbage (But one man's garbage is....), but also a lot of great old hard-to-find British horror movies, like 'Asylum' from 1972 with Charlotte Rampling, Herbert Dom, and Peter Cushing, the original 'Tales from the Crypt,' also with Peter Cushing as well as Joan Collins,  the sci-fi horror 'Scream and Scream Again,' 1971, with Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, and Christopher Lee, 'The House That Dripped Blood' with Joanna Lumley, Ingrid Pitt, and Christopher Lee, 'Dr. Phibes Rises Again' from 1972, with Vincent Price and Robert Quarry, the 1971 version of 'Murders in the Rue Morgue,' with Jason Robards and Herbert Dom, the more obscure 'The Ghoul' from 1975, with Peter Cushing, the Hammer 'The Gorgon' from 1966, 'The Blood Beast Terror' from 1968, Mario Bava's stylish giallo of 1964, 'Blood & Black Lace,' and a host of other obscure Italian giallos from the 60s and early 1970s----and on and on and on.

I love this era of gothic/horror/monster/science fiction film, though they're quite tame by today's standards, which is not say they're not clever, inventive, stylish, and great fun to watch.

There's John Waters films from his classic raw era and Herschell Gordan Lewis gore films from the early 1960s, like '2,000 Maniacs' and 'The Gore Gore Girls.' There's also a lot of Mexican horror movies from the same era. The entire 'Dark Shadows' television series is there.

Tubi is also available in Canada but the movies available are not the same, exactly, as those in the United States.

    Check it out.

For me, the three ultimate horror movies, which I'm not saying 'are the best,' are 'Mulholland Drive' (2001),  'The Bay' (2012) and 'The Skin I Live In' (2011). The first two go too far for my taste, the first being psychological horror approaching perdition and the second being physical horror coming from nature. I wouldn't casually recommend any of the three to my friends or acquaintances.

If you all haven't seen 'The Skin I Live In' but are interested in LGBTQ+ issues, it's a interesting but very painful film, very well made. At least I found it to be so.

The idea of the 'horror film' has really changed from the 20th to the 21st century, which started with 'Rosemary's Baby,' 'Night of the Living Dead,' and 'The Exorcist.' The major difference was the good guys lose, there's a lot more excess, and the film leaves you depressed instead of exhilarated.

I personally prefer horror films that come out of the Romantic/Gothic tradition, like 'I Walked with a Zombie' (1943), 'Curse of the Demon' (1958), 'Carnival of Souls' (1963), 'The Reptile' (1966), or those that, like 'The Bay',' are about physical horror coming arising nature, like 'The Creature From the Black Lagoon' (1954), Hitchcock's masterful 'The Birds' (1963) or 'Frogs' (1971).

I recently got into the Wolf Creek series and I want to start the tv show but I CANNOT find season 2 to buy anywhere. I don't want to start season 1 without having season 2 so I'm stuck. Anyone know where I can buy Wolf Creek season 2?

She posted "3 white butterflies to know you're near" as a caption back in 2021 but I don't think she was teasing anything, she just later reused it.

    Hi guys,
long time lurker here and huge Lana fan.
I have just released a cover of DYKTTATUOB and would love it if you gave it a listen.
    Here's the Music Video:

It might be country restricted because of licensing.

Just know I'm no singer: I'm an English teacher and this is part of a project where I collab with my students so they can have a creative outlet despite the lack of actual music classes.

    Cheers

Fun fact about my family: we all pretty much like the same things as well as have our own personal favs that the others don't touch at all.

From what you've said, it seems like its moreso he needs to learn how to respect you and your interests. Like he doesn't understand lana, well then so be it, but hes gotta understand that you love lana. And theres no ifs and buts about it!  basic fundamentals of a relationship 101 tbh

Omg but the fact that he doesn't "understand" why you like her is a mess. He should tbh.

My boyfriend luckily was a big Lana fan when I met him, and being with me made him even a bigger stan. We listen to her 24/7 lol.

March was such a terrible, terrible month for me, it even ruined my first listening experience with this album.
I feel better now and Ocean Blvd has become the highlight of my year.

The Grants - Ocean Blvd - Sweet are some of her best ever vocals, lyrics and performance
A&W - Candy Necklace - Kintsugi - Fingertips - Paris Texas has to be her darkest run ever, and not only that but A&W and Fingertips are career peaks
Grandfather - Let the Light In - Margaret  These songs are epic
And Peppers and Taco Truck are absolute bops. Taco Truck is one of her best ever songs to smoke to...

The lyrics are fantastic through the whole thing, so many iconic lines and interesting stories. Fingertips is definitely my favorite.

Also it's incredible how the release of this album kinda officially cemented her as a totally MAIN global artist. Selling out big shows, headlining festivals all over the world, awards, critical acclaim, record-breaking streaming numbers... ugh. I knew 2023 was going to be huge for her. 2024 will be bigger!

    Thank you Lana.

I loved this album so so much. I actually was thinking of coming here the day it dropped but I didn't! But I was here during the pre-release and was actually so excited because I am always excited about her upcoming projects even if I don't end up liking them that much. It happened to me with NFR, COCC and BB, and I do appreciate many things about those albums - The Greatest might be one of her best songs ever, and there are many beautiful songs in all of those three projects, but I didn't like them that much. But I was super excited about this one since she dropped that first interview, and I love love love love it. It's such an special album. It's so like her old stuff but it remains fresh and new and it seems like she's blended everything in one album. Anyways I'm back! Loved the MITA show so so much. She really outdid herself.
