Idk why Fresh Out The Slammer is being slept on - the beat switch at the end makes me ascend

    now pretty baby I’m running
to the house we still wait up and that porch light gleams
to the one who said I’m the girl of his American dreams
and no matter what I’ve done it wouldn’t matter anyways
ain’t no way I’m gonna screw up now that I know what’s at stake
    here
at the park where we used to sit on children’s swings
    wearing imaginary rings
    but it’s gonna be alright
    I did my timeeeeee

Just popping in before I go to sleep for the night to say the show was incredible from an attendee perspective. This was my 19th show of hers, so I really enjoyed all of the surprise guest performances as a nice switch up. You could tell how much fun Lana was having with everyone and was really enjoying herself on stage! Her vocals were absolutely incredible, perhaps some of the best I’ve seen in person from her shows I’ve attended. Looked beautiful. Talked to the crowd more than normal which was so cute. She was so happy to be back in Alabama and it showed.
Also, this performance appealed to the non-stans in the crowd as well. I didn’t try for barricade (I knew I wouldn’t survive it in this Alabama heat & humidity) and got to Lana’s set about 3 hours before she got onstage, so I was quite a few rows back but still had a pretty decent view since I was right by the middle barricade. I was surrounded by some people who weren’t super stans and they really enjoyed the set. I also brought my friend to the show who is just a casual listener (she really only listens to Born to Die & NFR occasionally, mostly bc of my influence lol) and she loved it. It was her first Lana show and right after it ended she said “I didn’t really understand the obsession with Lana until now. Something about seeing her live really makes her music hit different. Watching her was mesmerising. I see it now - Lana is America’s princess.” As soon as we got back to the hotel, she immediately ordered a LDR flag from Amazon and started reading up on her Wikipedia lol.
So, it was a great set especially for a festival crowd even if a few songs had to be cut. However, this has made me realise I am getting way too old for festivals loool it seemed like my friend and I were among the oldest there (apparently this is a festival popular among college kids which we are not) and whew my old knees are not what they used to be looool. Currently feeling so much ache from the knees down and my head is throbbing lmaooo but I’m excited for Chappell Roan tomorrow & Reneé Rapp on Sunday!! Goodnight LanaBoards xx

She has 9 studio albums and you’d think she has 3 based off her setlists 😭

I’m both done complaining about and hoping the set list will change honestly

there’s no reason to still be singing some of these songs especially when the band can rehearse and learn random flop covers that she discovers on her FYP on a moments notice

Guys I just relistened to OG Red on my old iPod, and wow that album is just so perfect. Specifically the 2012 version. It’s such a time capsule of that era in time I think. And the way I listen to it and think about how drastically different it is in terms of maturity, sound and visuals from her 3 albums before it. It breaks my heart, it’s such a devastating album and will always be Taylor’s peak for me no matter what she releases in the future. Red genuinely feels like the album that Taylor Swift was put on this earth to make, like her mission statement to me. Damn. And the OG Treacherous demo and State of Grace acoustic. My heart actually hurts so bad right now this album still devastates me even after all these years

I wonder if we are getting southern gothic type of country

Or old Wild West style country

Or more vintage western cowgirl country

I know she'll make it her own blend, but I wonder what style it will lean towards in terms of sound and art. The word Lasso makes me think Wild West, and the website used for the Coachella live chat had a vintage western cowgirl feel. Maybe this is the delulu in me speaking, but could the emotes and art have been hints for Lasso? They bolded the songs she performed in the chat, so I think it’s possible the rest of the website’s theme could have more relevance. Since it dropped during Coachella, we kinda overlooked that website and emotes. I'm curious if they have more significance to the album like the cover art or song lyrics.

I just need smooth transitions again like the ones on Honeymoon or some songs on A.K.A or sth iconic like Bittersuite going into Blue on Billies new album I don't know how likely that is since Lasso was made over a timespan of 4 years but even if it's only for a couple of songs I would be satisfied. I kinda miss smooth transitions like that
    Manifesting bridges too

Was thinking about how Lana used to cover “Knockin’ on Heavens Door” at her performances after Without You.

I’m not saying put a cover song on the album, but imagine a studio version on Lasso

I don’t know how I feel about Peppers potentially getting a debut and there won’t be a professional recording of it, at best someone will bring their HQ compact camera and film from the audience but

I haven't got over the disappointment of having (nearly) all the DYKTTATUOB features at Hyde Park ... and ... no songs sung together. But seeing Lana and Tommy rehearsing together gives me hope that it really might happen this time!! even though I'm not there

But I'm dreading having to watch it through the worst quality live stream ever. 2023 was hell for livestreams.

i'm sorry, but some of you need to calm down and perhaps look it at from her perspective, all she did was write two short comments responding to a very stupid and offensive meme about her, you would be bothered too if somebody insinuated that you somehow dreamed of living a life of pain and struggle although being rich which she has said time and time again that she wasn't rich as a child, especially considering the fact that she's been heavily criticized for making art about her pain, and has had it misconstrued as romanization or fetishization of such topics, it wouldn't be the first time she's called somebody out like that, it was a stupid meme and she has every right to not like it
