the way we still have a 6 minute song coming too like... a&w honestly feels like it's only 4 minutes long (probably because of the transition). i have no idea what kintsugi is going to sound like. apparently it's piano heavy, so if it sounds anything like the first part of a&w i'd say we won, but there are also drums + guitar + synths, so who knows

I feel like I was definitely shook for the first time listening to A&W because the song itself is very dark and before the release we were all expecting some slutty/fun/"I'm an American whore,take it or leave it, fuck you mom" kind of song , and then....we were blessed with one of her darkest songsdefinitely was a surprise for me

I have faith in American Whore being a huge hit - im talking about NFR doin time kind of success, cause I just know that "jimmy jimmy coco puff" is going to be viral af in no time. Tiktokers are digging it as i can see.

The drop in streams isn’t worrisome. A&W’s unfiltered streams (1,761,045) are stronger than the title track’s filtered streams (1,718,111) on Day 3, and the title track was actually added on multiple playlists that day (it was a Friday). For a 7 minute track with zero promo, it’s been performing remarkably well so far. Hopefully it’ll stabilise!

Yeah, the Judah Smith Interlude’s instrumentation is very unsettling and eerie according to BOZ. I’m actually very excited about it. It feels like the natural continuation of the darkness of A&W. He loves the Jon Batiste Interlude. Apparently it’s very wild and heavy on electric guitars! Both interludes will be divisive - Kintsugi dislikes them, lol! -, but I’m glad she’s not playing it safe. What intrigues me the most is that both insiders told us that the album is
sonically adventurous and unexpected and that there will be something for everyone. The track rankings will be all over the place, but it’ll be the sign of a great diverse album. 
 
 

Given that both insiders told us that the second half of the album is stronger than the first one and yet we’ve already been gagged by tracks 2 and 4, I think that we’re going to get a truly great record.
 
So many tracks have been highlighted by them: The Grants (full and gorgeous), Candy Necklace (massive), Kintsugi (best song of all-time according to our favourite insider), Fingertips (stunner), Paris, Texas (delicate highlight), Grandfather (BOZ’s favourite), Let The Light In (singled out by both insiders), Fishtail (the potential fan favourite of the album), Peppers (a slutty vibey bop apparently), Taco Truck (an outro for the books). Even Sweet is praised for its beautiful strings, Kintsugi thinks that Margaret is actually great, and BOZ adores the instrumentation on both interludes. 
 
This album is shaping up to be one of the most important works in Lana’s career. 
 

2,401,100 filtered streams?! The track surpassed Ocean Blvd’s second day and NFR’s first day streams! A 7-minute track with zero playlisting and promo did that. This is insane! I -

I'm so glad that I'm pretty much musically illiterate/ignorant, because A&W doesn't sound like anything Jack or Lana has ever done to me. 

The production of A&W is great and did what it had to do, and conveyed what it wanted to convey.

I do understand the frustration that Jack is using the same beats, he needs to expand his toolbox.
 
But then we should make sure to have the same mentality with other pop producers like Dr Lu** or Max Martin. If you want to dig the hole deeper, we then should also complain about Lana and Emile using hip hop presets and “loons” on BTD that have been used for 30 years at that point, instead of coming up with something original. Pharrell and Timbaland are even bigger recyclers (especially Pharrell 2015 and onward) but I have not see anyone complain about that either; hell, some of y’all  praised him in Ariana’s Sweetener, when all of his songs are the same 3 drums and percussions. 
 
Get new headphones, earbuds, speakers, or an ear doctor. All of these items have payment plans! 

Yes her delivery is what makes it so good. I’m truly obsessed. It replays in my head all the time. I randomly start singing “I’m invisible. I’m a ghost now.”
