i haven't heard anything but the 2 singles but this is my most-anticipated list based on what lana's told us so far and what i've been hearing around here:
    1. fingertips
    2. grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep sea fishing
    3. let the light in
    4. taco truck x vb
    5. sweet
    6. kintsugi
    7. paris, texas
    8. fishtail
    9. the grants
    10. candy necklace
    11. margaret
    12. peppers
    13. judah smith interlude
    14. jon batiste interlude
(i'm only anticipating the judah smith interlude more than the jon batiste interlude bc i'm curious about what it is that he's saying that lana felt it necessary to include on the album)

I have a VERY serious question regarding Candy Necklace and something BOZ said

i have been thinking about it since he said it and contained my confusion/frustration long enough. Because we deserve an answer. Saw it get brought up again today and decided to speak my peace. So here:

BOZ says there’s some crazy stuff about that song and in the year 2025 he will spill.

    2025.

My question is: Why can’t he just tell us after this album is out? Or hell, tell us in 2024?

I’m dead serious, it really confuses me. Is he seriously going to get in trouble telling us about a song that is already legally released?

I don’t have an ATRL acct, but I know people on here do. Take one for the LanaBoards family and freaking ask him. Please. Honestly it’s very confusing to me and unless he can clarify the reason he MUST wait 2 WHOLE YEARS….

does this concern anyone else? What is the big freaking deal? I saw someone say maybe it’s cause Taylor Swift was on the song! Okay and??????
Why would I need to wait until 2025 to know about a feature? Is he gonna tell us Candy Necklace was part of a different album? A top 40 hit instrumental originally? A Lana/Patty duet?  I genuinely cannot wrap my head around the whole fuss- why he would wait that goddamn long to just tell us. He’s going to forget his password… again

I’m stoked for this whole album and don’t foresee any reason we can’t know the background or origins of the songs once it’s released! Anyways, thanks for reading my rant! Love ya

(let’s make this movement bigger than the Sky Ferrari or whatever one)
(not that it would take much work tbh)

I don't want to be delusional but I hope this album gets a grammy or even nominated for one. It's some of her best song writing (IMO) and I think it deserves to have some form of recognition for it.

Damn, thank you. I can assure you I know my angles first and foremost. But appreciate the compliment. Your username being centered around one of NFR’s best tracks is just as hot.

Now that I’ve listened to the Kali and Miley records, my excitement and appreciation for Lana’s artistry and overall existence skyrocketed even higher. I think it’s “easier” (for the lack of a better word) to make pop music that is generically written in a way that the GP will resonate with and relate to - specially if it’s all laced with a production that captures all of the current trends (in Miley’s case). No disrespect to Kali or Miley as both albums are pretty good (Kali’s specially) but the fact that we’re about to get a 77 minutes long abrasive, complex and dense body of work that will tackle pretty dark subjects and defiantly aim for different sonorities and genres all clashing together in the service of a pretty unique and singular vision and storytelling truly makes Lana stand out even more than usual. She’s truly on a lane of her own.

So the OG version of Venice Bitch huh? This might as well be her best closer already. Taco Truck x VB is coming for Get Free's spot help.

    ROSEMEAD
    1. A&W
    2. Let The Light In
    3. The Grants
    4. Taco Truck x VB
    5. Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing
    6. Fishtail
    7. Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd
    8. Kintsugi
    9. Candy Necklace
    10. Sweet
    11. Margaret
    12. Peppers
    13. Paris, Texas
    14. Fingertips
    (15. & 16. Judah Smith and Jon Batiste Interludes)
Not a fan of the interludes, Fingertips, Paris, Texas, Peppers, and Margaret, but praised the rest of the tracks and literally said that Kintsugi and Candy Necklace being in the middle of his ranking order doesn't mean anything at all, because he adores both songs and we have nothing to worry about in terms of their quality. He also really likes Sweet which he called "cute next to gorgeous".

    FLORIDAKILOS
    1. Fishtail
    2. Taco Truck x VB
    3. A&W
    4. Fingertips
    5. Paris, Texas
Not a fan of the interludes and Margaret (because of Jack's voice, lmao).

    BRIGHTSUN
    1. Kintsugi
    2. Let The Light In
    3. Margaret
    4. Taco Truck x VB
They consider this to be Lana's best album. Not a fan of Paris, Texas!

    KINTSUGI (no official ranking)
    1. Kintsugi (duh)
+ highlighted A&W, called Candy Necklace massive, thought Margaret is actually great, called Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing excellent, praised Let The Light In and Taco Truck x VB's outro ("one for the books"), and generally raved about the tracks 8-16 sequence. The only tracks that he didn't like are the two interludes.

BOZ (no official ranking; an ATRL member tried to guess/predict BOZ's ranking order, and BOZ said that it's pretty close)
    1. Grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he's deep-sea fishing
    2. A&W
Also praised The Grants, Let The Light In, Paris, Texas, and Fingertips. He really likes the Jon Batiste Interlude and has kinda warmed up to the Judah Smith Interlude (which he called eerie and psychotic). He also said that Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd is possibly a top 5 track on his ranking order. Not a fan of Margaret (he called the song "cute", but he doesn't like Jack's voice at all in general) and Kintsugi (he praised the lyrics, but found the track way too slow for his liking).

The rankings are all over the map, and this is the sign of a great album! I love the fact that Margaret is at the bottom of BOZ's ranking (and Rosemead doesn't like it either), while Kintsugi said that it's great and it's also made Brightsun's top 3. Ditto Paris, Texas (very high on BOZ and Floridakilos' ranking, very low on Rosemead and Brightsun's ranking) and even Kintsugi (#1 (!!!!) song for both Kintsugi and Brightsun, near the bottom of the ranking order for BOZ) and Fingertips (Rosemead's least liked song, while praised by BOZ and floridakilos). It really looks like there's something for everyone. The only tracks that haven't appeared on top 5s etc. seem to be Peppers, Sweet and the two interludes. I haven't listened to any of the leaks/snippets, but I adore all of your wildly diverse reactions to the tracks so far. I am so excited about the new album!

And based on floridakilos' tea regarding the fact that most insiders/leakers don't have Candy Necklace, this is definitely Black Bathing Suit redux (last-minute addition to the tracklist + similar spot on the tracklist (track 6 v. track 5! right after an interlude!) + similar length (5:14 v. 5:18)! lol).

despite the lack of music video she's released two singles, went to an award show, put up that petty billboard in tulsa, got featured in at least three magazines AND has a tour incoming. she's promoting it HARD

The fact people are getting copies of ROB GRANT’s album signed by PHOENIX meanwhile people who BOUGHT signed copies of Blue Banisters had their orders cancelled because Lana couldn’t be bothered. BYE

Probably Nikki Lane, Weyes Blood, Sierra Ferrel, Joan Baez, and Zara Larson  with a special cover of Denim & Diamonds to close the record

    Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future,
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
    All time is unredeemable.
What might have been is an abstraction
    Remaining a perpetual possibility
Only in a world of speculation.
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present.
    Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened
    Into the rose-garden.

    In case you forgot xx

I honestly think Ocean Blvd could take my top spot, but we'll see... I love the newer stuff she's been doing most (NFR onward), even if BB was a little messy for me as a whole.

    1. NFR
    2. Ocean Blvd [?]
    3. Chemtrails Over the Country Club
    --
    4. Honeymoon
    5. Ultraviolence
    6. Blue Banisters
    7. Lust For Life
    8. Born To Die
    9. Paradise

Genuinely love all her albums, it's crazy to think she's the same girl who released Born to Die and Paradise. She's just grown so much over 10 years.
