Yes, Interscope and Polydor are part of the UMG. I knew the chances of her performing were slim so this isn't a surprise, but it sucks because it will hurt her chances of getting an award  usually everyone in the AOTY category are invited to perform, and if I'm not mistaken Lorde was the first one ever to refuse performing? Correct me if I'm wrong

Unlike normal singers I don't think she has done a television performance since BTD era?

 

Her issue on SNL (and in BTD era) is that she hadn't worked out what sound she was supposed to make. Baby voiced Lolita, the infamous 'lower' voice she claimed to use to distinct herself, or the Shakira vocals. She has grown enormously as an artist with her sound and is more than capable now, but I think she would still balk at the idea of performing live on TV.

If I had to pick two defining lyrics of the 2010s, they’d be the whole of Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” and this: “The culture is lit, and if this is it‚ I had a ball / I guess that I’m burned out after all.” The latter comes courtesy of Lana Del Rey and her entry for consideration into the Great American Songbook, Norman Fucking Rockwell. Over the latter part of the decade, Del Rey has written with more clarity, sense of self, and a sense of what’s bigger than herself than she has for the whole of her career. The Trump era, climate change, and the “death” of her idols, like Kanye West, seems to have lit a fire under her pen. “The Greatest” is a eulogy for the culture writ large ‘cause Lana, like anyone with a clue, is ready to burn it all to hell. I agree absolutely. I've been saying this since Honeymoon; she's writing with such a sense of self. Honeymoon was the first time she acknowledged herself as a real woman in a real world.
