I think the rollout of NFR was August of ‘18 when she released the two singles, and did two radio interviews where she went in depth giving the album name, inspiration for the album name, and talking about dropping the song in October (that she wasn’t sure was going to be stand alone or part of the album)

 

then she did interviews and said top of the year and up until July of ‘19 that was all we got out of her 

 

NFR was a messy rollout through and through and this is shaping up to be just as bad, some would say the rollout for this album started in May when she announced the Sep 5th date and gave little previews to the album for the following months via Instagram (yellow jumpsuit pic, makeup for hiking, a song snippet)

Refuse to clarify anything regarding interview magazine saying "Album coming this month"

They should have advertised this whole poetry book AFTER the albums release. Or just got it all out of the way back in July or something. I just, dont understand what they are trying to achieve here. It's such a fucking mess.

 

tbh i am really excited about the book but i do think its messy to be rolling out both an album and a book at the same time (at least the way this one is being handled). i do think the book deal only came through in jan/feb of this year (as evidenced by her switch from selling it herself to  it being published by simon & schuster) and there was a real missed opportunity to either package the book and new album alongside each other or keep them really separate– instead it just seems like a muddle of both rollouts. i was surprised that there was no promo for her audiobook and really hope/wonder if there will be real promo once the physical book comes out.

 

all that said i can't wait to read the poems that didn't make it onto the audiobook AND am obvs dying for new music.

by then she had to have known she didn’t have the high budget video shot yet, and probably had just gotten the green light for that or was in the planning stages of getting someone to shoot the video

 

she shot the video end of August, about a month after the interview (where she even says she’s unsure I’d the album is done yet) I think we can probably assume by then she had an idea the album might be pushed back 

 

unless she did shoot a video (yellow jumpsuit pic) and planned on using that but her managers said no?? I just think that with as much of a budget as they are doing for this video it had to have been planned more in advance than late July

True, we don’t, but I assume about a month before the 5th was when they realized it wouldn’t come out, so just  after they finished the magazine shoot and interview? 
 

I think she did film something at home in LA on July 31st (yellow bodysuit pic) since Charlie posted a clip of her up close with the sparkly earrings on TikTok and it was in the same VHS format as the Interview Magazine video and the poetry vids!

- Ben says to get the book before the COTCC video comes out - he says the book comes out September 26th, but it’s the 29th. So, COTCC video is coming after 9/29

 

- Lana says we will hear LMLYLAW before the video for COTCC drops, and the album comes out “soon”, but reiterates 9/29 for Violet. So, the album is coming after 9/29 and LMLYLAW could come at literally any point before the COTCC video drops, which is no earlier than 9/29. 
 

- Lana and Jack’s interview happened right after Violet was released as an audiobook, so she knew she was going to be focusing on poetry for a minute; Violet will officially be fully released by October 2nd, so it’s reasonable to assume that music will start coming out after October 2nd. The journalist who oversaw Lana’s cover story likely wasn’t told anything about the release date and just added “out this month” (September) despite no album-related activity because September 5th wasn’t disputed until the day actually came, and as we know, this cover story’s pictures happened in late June/early July and the actual interview happened in the last days of July, so at that point, September 5th was still on. 
 

My guess is that LMLYLAW will come the week of October 5th, with the pre-order coming the week of October 19th, the COTCC video coming the week of October 26th, and the album coming on Friday, October 30th. 

This makes so much sense. I’m getting sus of you again actually being Lana ? That or the rest of us are just dumb.

I completely agree that they had to have filmed something, like you said they’ve posted a little snippet of that.

 

and the hairdresser reposted the two pics saying he did do her hair and her makeup was professionally done 

 

maybe it’s a NFR situation where Ben saw the video she filmed as the lead video and said no...but even then, the difference between her brother shooting a home made video and a super high budget video is staggering. I can’t imagine he saw her video end of July and then decided out of the blue to spend lots of money on a new video for the title track 

 

 

who knows, this is all a muddy mess, I’m sure eventually it’ll all make sense and come together but this uncertainty about literally every detail is crazy

 

any kind of concrete confirmation about anything would be fantastic 

 

 

(Ben probably thinks reposting that week and a half old video saying to buy the poetry book first is complete clear, and I mean, if we’re taking his post extremely literally it is.)
