hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but I have it [MUSIC VIDEO]

Recommended Posts

So random, I love it. Just like Pawn Shop Blues. She just likes to release randomly old videos on others accounts.

It's the best homemade video since Video Games. :wowcry:

Bets are opened. Which on is coming next ?

- Pretty when you cry (homemade video)

- California (Homemade video)

- Full Blue Banisters video or original Let me love you like a woman video (alleged by me)

- Ultraviolence (original video used for freak)

- Best american record (original video used for White mustang)

.....

:ahh:

Or I will take the full Arcadia video anytime if she prefers :shh2:

By the way, the speech is not only on the vinyl, I have it at the end of my CD as well. I guess this is Jack speaking. Like he was very stoned (at the nail salon) and couldn't tell if Lana and the song were a dream, a trip or something.

It does fit the end of the MV.

The music video is stunning :trisha:

I'm so glad she leaked it. An Icon:thankyou:

Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. It’s about trying to find beauty in giving up. If I had my way, I would continue to persist in all areas of my life, but it can be quite challenging because I can be too trusting too soon.":sadcore2:

This video was such a strange thing to watch. You could see the song in her eyes. Almost feels altogether like this is something I wasn't meant to see.

Definitely what was on my mind, I started singing it too haha

This was my favorite part. The angry disdain in which she throws the clothes around, and just in the way she takes her clothes in so many ways. There's something about recording yourself taking off your clothes knowing you're being recorded. People will think you're being erotic, like in a porn. But I think Lana's actually taking us inside her state of mind. Taking your clothes off is just something you actually do. Like when you wanna jump into the pool, when you're going to sweat doing house chores like doing the laundry, when you wanna feel fresh while lazing around. And all those things are ok, but when you're not fine, like when you are writing poems about suicide, or the meaning of your life, and you slowly become crazier, you simply just don't care about it. And I see that in her eyes. She looks straight to the camera as if saying "I know you're watching me, but you won't get the meaning of why".

The shot while she says "it's the most famous woman you know on the iPad, calling from beyond the grave, I just wanna say hi dad" and she sets up the camera like we're her dad watching her and answering the call. Ugh, her mind. She has so many strong visions during the video, I just kept thinking "let me record this with you, this other angle would be so good", but I understand why it's a low-budget video recorded by herself, this is the song for it. Why taint it like that? A big headline for a couple of days on a clickbait article where no one really cares. Yes, no thanks. There wasn't any other way.

Also, running up the stars with the video upside down is another moment with a strong metaphor for her mind being twisted up. So many great shots.

I believe choosing to release this right now isn't a big sign of anything, it's just what she has said many times already. She's gonna keep staying true to herself.

She was doing that more than 11 years ago. She's going to keep doing that. No matter who, no matter what.

And of course she looked glamorous while laying down, that is a classic LDR shot

But also, the speaken outro by Jack. The song's actually ending, and she's actually on the floor. The video is ending, the dream is about to end. How will you know she was real?

Ugh, I just love this so much!

THE END WHERE JACK IS TALKING! I’m crying. He says “I hope you’re real. If I wake up tomorrow and the song doesn’t exist and you don’t exist”… he sounds choked up.

I almost wonder if this is right before she admitted herself to the alleged ‘iron gate institution’ she’s speaking of in the upcoming poetry book and in WW. Whatever she opened, it almost seemed like she was packing and she seemed so sad in her eyes. ? what do others think?

her sharing this is a pretty clear sign to me that she's feeling creative/ready to share, hopefully we get more stuff soon. also it seems like she's revisiting past thoughts/music and in a very contemplative mood, which would make sense considering BB has old outtakes if BOZ is right
