SoftwareUpgrade 19,349 Posted January 27, 2022 "But wow, what a moment-a moment that is most pleasing to me and my career" Jokes aside, this era still has an impact, even aesthetically, she had her vision and fought for it! I was too young for the subject matter/didn't care when this was released and didn't listen until a while later. My favorite tracks would be: TIWMUG, Without You, Lucky Ones, and Video Games. Happy 10 years 🌹 7 Quote I'm Poppy
Glitter Boy 16,608 Posted January 27, 2022 A fckn DECADE since this album was released. I can have a lot to say about it even if I discovered it as late as 2017 (yeah that's when I found about Lana and I automatically started stanning) but in the meanwhile, here you have my 10th Anniversary Edition: (I decided to keep it simple so yeah) Disc 1: 1. Born to Die 2. Off to the Races 3. Blue Jeans 4. Video Games 5. Diet Mountain Dew 6. National Anthem 7. Dark Paradise 8. Radio 9. Carmen 10. Million Dollar Man 11. Summertime Sadness 12. This Is What Makes Us Girls 13. Without You 14. Lolita 15. Lucky Ones Disc 2: 1. French Restaurant 2. Hollywood's Dead 3. Damn You The Chris Braide piano version leaked last year, not the old demo 4. aiddy 171 Posted January 27, 2022 i remember watching music channels on tv before school when i was 15 and discovering video games and born to die and i fell in love, i was obsessed. i listened to pure pop - whatever was popular on the charts - but when i heard her she changed my world. it got to a point where i only listened to her and nothing else lol the album was the first cd i bought i think, i just couldn't stop listening to it. i loved every single song, cried many many times, but the one most special to me is radio i was at college, i was struggling with my sexuality, pretty much had no friends, i was so lonely, but radio sparked so much hope in me. just hearing her say her life was better, and boasting "how do you like me now?" saying that she'd made it provoked so many hopes and dreams in myself- i started to truly believe that one day i'll be happy and have achieved something (im on my way, will get there some day) plus the song is a fucking banger. its my fave from born to die and maybe even all of her songs i dont think ive actually listened to the album as a whole for at least like 5 years, which is insane. but im listening now and my eyes have been welling up with each song until i finally broke listening to radio. the first in a line of incredible albums. her discography is a marvel love u lana

13beachess 7,620 Posted January 27, 2022 The title track is criminally underrated imo. I could DIE for the intro btw... the STRINGS, the BASS, the BEAT) and that electric guitar in the very end...... 18 Quote If I get a little prettier can I be your baby? Cherry Blossom 21,666 Posted January 27, 2022 Am i the only person who feels like the original tracklist is pretty much perfect and the outtakes from that era are better left off the (official) album? i see people saying they would replace certain songs with serial killer, because of you etc. as much as these songs are amazing on their own, i feel like the songs of born to die perfectly encapsulates the themes of the album and work together. the only adjustment id make is replacing Dark Paradise with You Can Be The Boss. otherwise, it’s one of lana’s best tracklists

Dark Angel 203,376 Posted January 27, 2022 also, btw, i often see people say that this album is aging badly or that it's immature... however, i think it's the opposite this album has such a unique & innovative sound, it's a mix between so many different sounds, styles, & genres from different periods of time & artistic movements, so, on it's own, you really can't pinpoint it's sound to a specific period of time, it sounds nothing like anything which was released in 2011/2012, i think it just gets better with age... i also don't feel like it's immature, at least, in my opinion, i discovered lana when i was a young teenager & as i've gotten older i feel like the music & the messages of the music & how it can be interpreted has become so much more in-depth & relatable, even if i don't really relate to the exact experience she may be talking about, she writes her lyrics in a way where many people can relate to it, & find solace in it, i think it's silly to think this album won't stand the test of time, people will still enjoy it just as much in the 2060's 19 Quote .。*゚+.*.。 𝕒𝕝𝕝 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥'𝕤 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕝 𝕥𝕠 𝕞𝕖 𝕚𝕤 𝕙𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕠𝕨𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕛𝕖𝕤𝕦𝕤, 𝕔𝕠𝕟𝕖𝕪 𝕚𝕤𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕓𝕖𝕒𝕔𝕙𝕖𝕤, 𝕔𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕕𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕣𝕤, 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕤𝕖𝕚𝕫𝕦𝕣𝕖𝕤, 𝕙𝕠𝕟𝕖𝕪 。.*.+゚*。.
