Some fans being delusional saying that Glastonbury should feel honoured to have Lana etc. As if Glastonbury isn’t arguably the most famous festival in the world

It’s pretentious that’s what it is :silly:

She did cover Joni Mitchell's 'For Free,' for which the correct line:

I've got a black limousine
And two gentlemen
Escorting me to the halls

Though Lana's cover goes:

I got a black Limousine

And two gentlemen
Who escort me through these halls

It seems she got escorted out this time.

For me, it just seems like an unfortunate fuck up, the kind which have haunted her career, but all in all, ultimately, it's no big deal.

It can be added to the professional calamities that have followed her since BTD.

It's over and done with, she got a lot of extra free press and word-of-mouth from it, hopefully she learned something valuable, and the next performance will go off without a hitch.

She may be invited back to Glastonbury, depending on how she approaches this going forward. If she bad-mouths them excessively, it's unlikely she'll be invited back.

I agree with the member who said the Glastonbury brass mean what they said about a sharp 12:00 a.m. cut-off, but perhaps it was, under the circumstances, the right thing for Lana to do to attempt to continue performing and end the show properly.

I mean I think that's going a little far but the idea of actual ballet dancers during a song like Y&B gives me goosebumps and I want

Oooh! I shudder to disqualify Lana's dancers and choreo so easily! Here is a snippet of UV. What you said you want for Y&B Lana & co did for UV!

Check the bedraggled rat gestures on top of the piano . . . That is real suffering!

This is a gif I had to replace the youtube which got pulled. Click on it to activate the motion to view a snippet of the choreo for UV

SQCpM.gif

In tears over this dance to UV! After I posted earlier, I went back to watching and got to this song. Even Lana's vocalists employ some choreo with the fists.

Alex Kaye, you brought it! I would say, with the difficulty of dancing on limited space on the stage alongside the musician, singers and stairs, the free and improvisational feel of the choreo, feels like the dancing was made for the audience who enjoys it! Side note: how about the juxtoposition of Candy Necklace before UV? The theme of attraction to danger.

The dancing and choreography alongside Lana's compositions and the band's delivery should put Alex Kayes dancers on the front page of Dance Magazine as THE happening thing in dance! It isn't strictly classical ballet, but the dancer who solos during the Glastonbury performance of UV has those skills. She is throwing in some modern!

Could someone make a mockup with Lana's dancers this tour.

The choreo for Y&B was beautiful - you didn't think so? What about subltly leaning back while kneeled down? It is a throw-away move, so gorgeous! Kaye, you brought it!

Would someone make a mockup of this photo as this magazine cover?

so she was not the first one

A source said: “There were chaotic scenes backstage - Lana’s team were desperately pleading for her to be allowed to go on later, as she still had six songs to perform. It’s happened before with Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney so it seemed a harsh decision to them, but the festival wouldn’t budge.

Re dancers. I appreciate so much! We're getting ballet quality dance. To each his own, but I dig the choreography. There is so much reaction about the dancing, maybe you-all appreciate it more than you realize! Sometimes just something which is making you react is art that is really grabbing you! For one, Alex's choreo is showcasing evolution of the live show. Do so called artists or pop singers evolve? They have a schtick, and perfom it forever, until people get tired and the next flavor of the moment appears. You are watching grace and real dancing in exciting choreo along the lines of the best modern I enjoyed watching in my early years outside Manhattan . . . Twyla Tharp, Martha Graham, Peter Martins. I don't have $$ for the ballet these days, and appreciate Alex incorporating her talents and colleagues into the show. It is something to look at, you're witnessing some exciting choreo. It appears like organized chaos to you . . . but the precision is there, just off the beat the way Lana sings jazz, behind the beat. I am captivated! Refreshing from showy acrobatics and jerky dance moves that always struck me as lazy. Think Paula Abdul. Paula is a great dancer. She started out studying ballet. To each his own. I respect your opinions. The dancers and choreo are exquisite.

you know what's up!!! I'm a fan of dance too and some of the comments I read regarding the choreos and the dancers made me side-eye ngl. I'm a alex stan, I think she's very talented and that she's doing an amazing job as a choreographer. the new ballet dancers are great, especially hennessy, she's crazy talented as well!

the part when they start running is a bit funny, I'll say that, but I get the purpose! I just love everything they've been doing so far and they compliment lana's music very well, it's a shame most people can't see that

I like this guy

In defence of Lana Del Rey’s tardiness

Quote

The decision to cut Lana off halfway through her set has generated a heated debate. As many fans saw it, this was a disrespectful and even sexist move, while detractors criticised her for a lack of professionalism and argued she only had herself to blame. It’s strange that Glastonbury has such a strict curfew in the first place, considering it takes place on a farm in the middle of nowhere and some events last all night – who’s going to complain about the noise? The decision to cut her off seems somewhat pedantic and mean-spirited, then, but whether it’s an act of misogyny targeted at Lana specifically, I’m not convinced: plenty of men have had festival sets cut for the same reason.

I do, however, believe that it’s unrealistic to expect Lana Del Rey to adhere to something so prosaic as a schedule – she’s a poetess! Leave efficient time-keeping to the management consultants of the world. Being a little messy, a little ethereal, is part of her appeal: no true Lana fan would object to her being late on account of her doing her hair, when that’s literally her whole vibe… In any case, 30 minutes doesn’t seem egregiously tardy: some artists have kept fans waiting for several hours. Let’s cut her some slack, and keep in mind that her hair did, in fact, look very nice – does that count for nothing?

this doesn’t work for me, says it was downloaded too many times 😭 does anyone have another link? i hope i’m not too late i really wanted to watch it

It works again! Maybe it's a certain # per day? I'm re-watching, and honestly this show is iconic... the way she sounds so bored and disdainful when she says, "Actually...I don't wanna bring him [to heaven with me] anymore" slays me. :eyeroll2: Ice queen vibes! Plus this time I noticed the dancers laughing and looking thrilled behind her; they were not expecting that!
