To me it does, Arcadia is Lana expressing her sadness and pain and then The Trio is more about expressing anger, like she’s been through enough and puts her middle finger in the air for all the people who’ve been hurting her

It's curious how most critics have completely ignored her exceptional vocal performance, especially in the songs Blue Banisters and Arcadia.

Two new reviews today, mojo and uncut gave 80 to the album. The meta score might go back to 80

NOTG really grew on me overtime. The vocal delivery on the verses is strikingly emotional and heavy

Yup, my personal top 3 hasn’t changed yet.
    1- NFR
    2- BB
3- COTCC/HM depending on my mood

BB is a really strong fall album (it even feels wintery at times) and that’s something that was missing in Lana’s discography before

My favourite 3 shaped up to be Thunder, Wildflower Wildfire and Nectar of the Gods; they happen to come right after each other.

Nectar of the Gods is truly heartbreaking. The way she delivers the lines, her voice and even the sound of the guitar sounds so painful, I feel every second of it.

If we’re being objective, production wise, COTCC is a better album, and it’s extremely cohesive, on the other hand BB is the strongest lyrically and the storytelling is brilliant. The production on some tracks is like whatever, mostly the unreleased ones excluding Thunder. And again, I’m not talking about personal preferences, because I personally prefer BB as a whole, but objectively the production on BB isn’t as rich or lively as on Chemtrails. Overall, I’d still say BB is the superior album because the production is still amazing, simply quite not on Chemtrails’ level

I love how in "Change" there's something in the wind and she sings about how she feels a positive change coming, and she doesn't know where or when, but she'll be ready for it when it arrives. And then in "Violets For Roses" there's something in the air and she sings about this personal awakening as both the world and her own self come back to life after a dark period. It's like that feeling she felt way back in Change is finally coming to fruition through self love and a rediscovery of happiness.

What I love about both COCC and BB is that, overall, Lana sounds at peace with life and with herself, and, within that context, she doesn’t sound complacent or boring.

It’s not a great many contemporary artists that can write songs about day to day life and living without those songs being dull, but on a lot of songs on both albums, Lana sounds serene and centered, and I find myself happy at this, and inspired too.
