This is my favourite thing in a long time.
Also, I didn't quite fully grasp what she was explaining until I read this YouTube comment:
Edit: I also need to say, that ending from the diamonds dropping into blood, to the implied murder scene, to her smile at the ending... that gave me the same chill that her BTD era videos did with the car crash in BTD, being pulled underwater in Blue Jeans, the jump in Summertime Sadness, the shooting in National Anthem. This is full circle IM CryINg. Also thank you Jon Batiste. You were gorgeous too!

I agree, I don't think she was channeling Veronica Lake either, I think those two were her before and after she let go of the necklace.

lana stans when they realize that motherhood is an important subject in the life of a 30yo woman

This part of Judah Smith Interlude completely defines the concept of the album.

They are my personal favourite visuals of hers by far. I sit and just look at the mockups on her website and my vinyls every day, it’s like stimming.. the satisfaction and comfort I get from the beauty of the images Favourite visuals and favourite album i won

I think it's definitely an interesting addition and the instrumental is obviously stunning. It's inclusion is quite thought provoking because at times it does seem like she's supporting everything he's saying, but she also chose to make it spooky, and then by the end of the album she's literally dancing naked for her neighbours which goes directly against how this sermon starts. It's placement so close to Jon Batiste Interlude with only one hypnotic song in between also makes me think they are some sort of yin and yang vibes. Lana certainly contains multitudes

On one hand, I am sure she was an absolutely horrible mother (most teachers are because they relate to children in a different way), on the other hand, I'd love to hear her side of the story.

there was this church in my hometown that said "REPENT - OTHERWISE, LAKE OF FIRE" on the side of the building and he really captured that energy. scratches my religious mania itch and contains so much thematically relevant content!

also it’s lowkey making me so emotional thinking about how lana deleted malibu because it was too personal but now she’s out here writing her most personal songs like wildflower wildfire and fingertips like the growth is immense

Do we think she censored cop in A&W and mother in fingertips because.. as in Judah smith interlude says, I always thought my preaching was about you, but really it’s about me. Like, I’m not even giving you guys the satisfaction of being mentioned in my songs, because this is about how you made ME feel.. I don’t know

Wow… I’ve done a full listen and gone back over a few tracks. I was speechless almost the whole time. I see why she organized the album as it is, she’s contemplating life, death, her family, and loved ones in the beginning. Then theres an underlying theme of her wanting to find love and struggling with her sexuality and her relationships and her religion. I think it’s her most personal work to date. By the end of the album, she’s looking on the brighter side of life, feeling secure in her own. I haven’t fully digested it yet, it is one of her most gut wrenching albums in my opinion. Candy necklace is immediately one of my favorite songs ever made by anyone, taco truck x vb was so fun and I thought it was a very interesting place to leave off the album, I wonder if it’s a taste of what’s to come.

This album is very wordy and devoid of color, like Lana had said. But there is such a deep nostalgic feeling and Lana tends to have that with every project but this is different. There’s something about the way that these songs progress that you can’t pin them to any specific time, and she truly captures the inner struggle of breaking free of that mold and empowering yourself while still remembering and honoring your family. She has been through a lot, and I truly hope she is as happy as she said at the recent awards because she deserves the world and more<3
