I guess Thunder and Nectar of the Gods would be in top 5 if the album was released earlier.

It was too over the top for me. It would’ve fit well if they made the overall movie more over the top (like I thought they would’ve) but his performance felt jarring at times.

Actually my favourite part of the film was seeing Reeve Carney because it made me think of Lizzy Grant 💀

It felt like a lot was happening at once but I still didn’t care.
Love Gaga’s acting though. I didn’t really care for the story

Just saw this movie it was kinda shit tbh but Gaga absolutely killed it & I hate Jared Leto. Anyways overall I liked it. Was it good? No. Was it bad? Kinda! But I was entertained. I feel like the movie took itself too seriously cause it was based on true events & an actual person died. If they went all the way with the over the top soap opera approach this movie would've been so good. What are y'alls thoughts?

i may prefer cotcc over blue banisters but it certainly wouldn't say it's generic text book, black bathing suit, & wildflower wildfire are still revolutionary

also manifesting an existential moment specific to aging—so much of her music is about her youth, and I’d love to see a full circle moment
Venice Bitch kinda had one (watching the neighborhood kids while also noting that she’s getting older), but we need a Landslide moment methinks

I wish Lana would do another NFR-esque cover in the future…or at least something a little avant-garde.
I know some people hate it, but I found that it was creative and really solidified the record as this apocalyptic invitation in the day-to-day life of LDR.

'The Other Woman' IS her best cover.

It's one of the best songs she ever made and a lot of people aren't ready for that conversation.

anyone else who’s a bit disappointed about the huge color difference between mock-up and the vinyl irl? i was really expecting a sky/baby blue vinyl but instead it was a really deep dark blue

Thunder to Sweet Carolina is my favorite sequence of tracks from the record. It's all so beautiful and intimate.

yes!! and lana never fails to surprise me– i really thought dealer was going to be a super dark, diamanda galas esque song based on her description and it is really something else entirely. her mind...

As close as I can get to an accurate ranking for me:
UV=HM=COCC=NFR
BB
LFL
Paradise
BTD
tbh i still don't have a total grasp on BB holistically– having so many songs before the album dropped has def affected my ability to read the songs in relationship to each other– but agree with the many who have said its highs are really high (but also it's lows are really low– see beautiful). UV remains the only album on which i have no songs i skip.

When I replace the album version with this
can we have a DL?

Since we finally have a clear acapella...
It obviously isn't nearly as beautiful as the original probably is, but in the meantime... hope y'all like it

idk how i found out about it– i'm guessing tumblr?– but i found the no kung fu ep 2011/2012ish and was really into it– liked it more than BTD. for many years i only knew of that and her 2009/2010ish era unreleased super pop stuff which i can't stand, so i didn't bother listening to other unreleased bc i thought they all sounded like that. only a few years ago that i discovered so many pre and post 2011 unreleased that i adore, most during the NFR era which brought me back to lana after not listening for a few years.
