of course they switched after they saw how she revolutionized pop music and got acclaim for it. she doesn't need to be getting smash hits, she is really successful in the alt pop niche she occupies and sits at the forefront of that just like lana. good for atlantic to realise they'd be losing talent, i hope they give her even more creative control and budget.Ā

I always hated these sorts of edits, because they highlight the misunderstanding around Lanaās aesthetic and place in pop-cultureāand they reduce her to āooh pretty, sad girlā, which is a vapid analysis based off of that stupid Summertime Sadness remix. Actually, these edits are the photographic equivalent of that remix.Ā

Iāll never forget when we were all watching the first MITA show and everyone was excited when and she sang The Grants live for the first time and then the song finished and there was that short interlude and we were all waiting for what was next and the absoluteĀ collapseĀ that it was when we heard the guitar intro for Flipside. I go back and rewatch the clip all the time, probably my fav live versions.

I fear weāre gonna be chasing that high for awhile

Really mixed. It depends on the venue, section and your perspective.Ā
Ā
Iāve been to three shows and had three different experiences. The two smaller venues generally had better crowds, but thatās just my opinion.Ā
Ā
Arkansas: The crowd was very tame andĀ wasnāt overly loud. Of the three venues, it probably hadĀ the most polite crowd. Itās a small venue and I think the demographicĀ (rural South) may have played a role.
Ā
Dallas: The crowd was out of control, at times. When the gates opened, peopleĀ ran, screamed and pushed everyone out of the way. Security had zero control. Once in the seated sections, many (not all) were very rude, loud and disrespectful. Several of the songs felt like screaming kareoke. It was my least favorite of the three crowds. Keep in mind it was a larger venue, in a larger city, and stormy weather may have played a role in riling people up.Ā
Ā
Mississippi: The crowd was fairly well behaved, but the security was also very strict. A few people were sneaking into other sections,Ā standing in aisles and vaping,Ā but got kicked out really quick. I posted on Reddit that the crowd seemed polite and respectful, but someone in the pit said it was total chaos in there. I didnāt see that, but then again Iāve never been in the pit because I have low tolerance for pushing andĀ shoving, and I like my personal space.Ā
Ā
Other things I noticed at all three shows:
1. ManyĀ attendees donāt seem to know a lot of her songs. Iām not sure if itās age or what (large percentage of the crowds were teenagers) but itās a little sad when people donāt know the songs.Ā
2. People show up late, but many people also leave early. I get it, traffic is bad, but last night even Lana made a comment about having to try extra hard because people were leaving early.
3. Going back to #1, a lot of people at these shows seem to be TikTok teens who may not have the incentive to be as attentive or respectful, simply because they may not have listened to her for long and/or theyāre just there for a concert experience Ā As opposed to a Lana experience.Ā
Ā
In summary, it depends on venue size/location, personal preference and where youāre sitting.Ā
