I wasn’t able to fully explain how I felt last night cause I was DRUNK. But anyways. My notification said that the @/didlanagopublic account had posted 9 minutes ago. I instantly freaked out cause I realized she opened again and was probably already closed. Then I get to honeymoon’s pages and it says she was only gonna be open for 5 minutes and felt so let down until I clicked the follow button and it worked and I SCREAMED AND JUMPED 😭 so that’s just to say I’m ECSTATIC because I didn’t even use my IG in 2015 and have wanted in since 2016. I have a hot take. Most people dont read in between the lines in lanas songs. shes always been empowered i feel by telling her story, no matter how heart breaking or honest shes been. Its obvious her music has deep emotional, sometimes very dark themes and it does resonate with a lot of damaged people or people very in tune with their emotions. I feel a lot of songs have been her way of coping and she has such artistic and diaristic ability that i feel the general public will always criticize her if they dont care to understand her lyricism. Ultraviolence for example, if you listen to the rest of the lyrics in context of the whole song, you can tell shes talking about the struggle that domestic abuse survivors often have. Feeling attached, feeling as if you need that person to survive even if you know the relationship is unhealthy. What i believe she was saying in qftc was that “shes not not a feminist” in the way that its not what people typically think when they think of feminism, but being being brutally honest about her experiences is what empowers her.

The fact that we have gotten COCC, the RCS announcement, the BB announcement, the three singles, Arcadia, the music videos, BB, a live television performance, the Euphoria single, and the FJM collaboration/cover in the same amount of time that it took between MAC and NFR! album release

I honestly feel super greedy, waiting for some LDR9 news when she did give us two superb album in 2021  (maybe it’s my January blues kicking in).
I knew she was in the studio and that touring is not an « obstacle » to her creativity and writing process and that it can speed up the album process. The DNC jacket and her saying the album was already better than the last one had me curious. But bless and curse BoZ at the same time for spilling about lyrics :

Honestly? Nothing. And not in a bad way. I really wouldn't mind if she just took a year to rest and spend time with her family/animals, she deserves it. She put out two albums in one year this year. However, since I'm pretty sure she does plan to start something new next year, I'm just excited about whatever music we get from her and finding out what DNC means

This isn’t really specific to the album art, but I’d love if BRTHR (the COCC video director duo) worked with Lana again. 
 
The video was gorgeous & trippy, stitched together the many multitudes of Lana’s artistry, and (in my opinion) made for a really stimulating music video experience. 
 
The song was already beautiful, and I think the video really elevated the track in a meaningful way which isn’t super common in the industry lately
