This win feels so … empty somehow? Pls dont come for me. I just think Midnights rly cant compare to her other AOTY wins + it just doesnt match some of the other contenders quality wise and idk thats just the truth to me. Feels like she was more awarded for her incredible achievements this past year & the eras tour. Like I actually didn’t expect her to win because a record breaking AOTY (!!!) win would just seem so… shallow in a sense.

And when she announced TTPD I wasn‘t even really shocked or gagged I was literally just like… Huh… okay I guess.

Not that I‘m not excited! I‘m looking forward to listening to the album, but we‘ve been fed SO much these past years which is cool but also kinda makes it impossible to catch a breath and live with a piece of art for a while. And I‘m worried that she‘s eventually gonna fall from this high because how is she gonna become more successful than this? I genuinely believe she puts this much music out because she wants to and is happy creating. That I cheer for! It‘s the other stuff around it that makes me anxious and nervous.

I'm still shocked tbh. I would've bet my life savings that she would have won at least 1 award last night

This really is embarrassing for the Grammys and cements the fact that they are an out-of-touch popularity contest. They've hated her from day one, and they refuse to admit that they were wrong about her. They know that it's impossible to deny her artistic achievements, hence the multiple nominations, but they will not give her the satisfaction of a win.

I'm so happy she doesn't play their game, she will always be too good for the industry.

honestly almost more depressing than the snubs is what a showcase these events are for how much basic decorum we lack as a society these days... it's hard to believe these shows were once high class... people would dress in their best to go & behave accordingly. when someone won, they usually kept it brief but sincere. no phoney or overzealous behaviors- just to the point, professional & natural. Lol between sza running to the stage like a drunk mess with her phone out, miley telling everyone she has no underwear on & the entire first minute of taylor's AOTY acceptance.... just bye. Bring back the finishing schools

This is so true. I'm kinda shocked still how much this award show proved that no one needs these awards.

I hope of they ever invite her again, she'll just reply "if you want some basic bitch, go to the Beverly center and find her." They just don't deserve her.

Anyone knows what important critics said about Taylor's Midnights? I got the vinyl back then because I loved Folklore and Evermore. However, I listened to Midnights three times and then I was done with it. It didn't strike me to be the same quality as Folklore, and surely not the same quality as Tunnel... I was and am still really shocked it won over Lana's masterpiece.

Well, maybe it's just like it was for Hitchcock, maybe never winning despite of nominations proves the highest quality...

Yes but that's what polite people do not TS.
I agree with you , she shouldn't attend it anymore. I just saw today that Guns n Roses , one of Lana's favorite bands ( also mine ) never won a Grammy. I always assumed they did. Does it make them less legendary ? No.
    Same applies to Lana.
Time is the best judge , let's see who will still be relevant on the next decade , hint Lana.

I think there’s a way to acknowledge someone else’s impact, and show them affection, and it’s not by forcibly dragging that person to come on stage after they lost an award to you. But then again, Taylor always gives main character energy and her actions often come across as performative. I agreed with what she said about Lana though—she deserves her own flowers.

Anyways, the Grammys are still a scam, just another weird, circlejerky industry thing where actual talent doesn’t necessarily gets recognized or acknowledged. Lana should not even bother attending at this point, she should just make music and dip honestly. These things are only as important as we make them out to be.

the critics were rather positive, but you're right, it was not much appreciated by aoty users, for example (like folklore): https://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/541510-taylor-swift-midnights.php

I agree. I think Taylor gets more out of it than Lana.
ALERT! I am projecting and this may have nothing to do with reality.

Lana seems to have more of a personal life. Grounded with some close friends and family. Taylor does not come off as conceited or arrogant but it seems like her every waking moment is to support the idea, "I am TAYLOR SWIFT ". To have a genuine close friend like Lana must be special to her. Hope that makes sense.

idk i didn't read it that way– if anything, it seemed to me (not a taylor fan tho she has some bops) like taylor benefitted from the all-time public high lana is on, a kind of cool factor (lol sounds corny but idk how else to put it) that tbh taylor is never gonna have. and most of all it just seemed like two girls having a super fun romy & michele's style night on the town during an event where both were being honored. lana and taylor both embody diff sides of the "girl next door" coin and i loved how they looked (lana all in black, taylor in white) like a cartoon version of that.

They knew what they were doing. I wouldn’t be surprised if she stopped going to award shows for a minute after that stunt they pulled

At the end of the day, Lana looks good in all of this ,
Very classy and elegant. A true class act. Taylor is… well, taylor. I appreciate in a lot of ways taylor saying the very true words she said on stage about Lana. What I don’t love personally is the way taylor “babied” Lana throughout the night. I personally feel a little ick about it. Lana is an icon. She doesn’t need to be taken under any wing. However it’s still going to come across as a good moment in a lot of ways in the long run, as Lana remained humble, elegant, and low key in midst of all the taylor mania. Lana is a true artist, she’s in a leage of her own.
Grammys are pretty scammy tbh. Although I know we all want to see her sweep   , she’s truly above it.

Good luck :-) I think the "looking out of the window/into the distance" prompt usually works well in combination.

The fact that none of no other than BTD, Paradise, UV, HM, LFL, NFR, COTCC or BB have won any already is why I just cant take those awards seriously. If she wins that will be great, but she truly doesnt need them.
