since being on time seems to not be a possibility with lana she needs to ditch the interludes they take too much set time when she could be singing you know ACTUAL songs

I think that the bare minimum for these types of professional commitments is to show up on time, it's disrespectful to the crowd.

Sorry but Lana is not above Glastonbury - if you’re late you don’t get to finish. She’s been late 3 out of the 3 festival shows she’s done. I get that she’s Lana and acts like she doesn’t care about stuff like this but it’s actually really unprofessional and disrespectful idc

This was her getting back at Glastonbury for not announcing her as a headliner

I think she should consider sending emails like Lorde; she could tell us what she wants to and then go live her life
Clearly she doesn't feel she can get the balance she wants with socials

Should be on bbc iplayer, but it’s not on official broadcast!
shes a headliner though, so would be weird if it wasn’t streamed on the iplayer

I don’t think it means much. While she may have more monthly listeners, I am not certain she could sell out a stadium the way Beyoncé can. Such comparisons are frivolous at best and inflammatory at worst. Though, I digress from my belief, in that the statistics are interesting.

I just hope Lana’s cashing those checks and buying herself pretty things.

This summertime sadness behind the scenes photo

    when I was 15, naked
    next-door neighbors did a drive-by
pulled me up by my waist, long hair to the beachside
i wanted to go out like you
swim with the fishes that he caught on Rhode Island beaches
but, sometimes, it's just not your time
all I wanted to do was kiss Aaron Greene and sit by the lake
twisting lime into the drinks that they made
the town I was wed/born in and die

    1. Lana was raised in Lake Placid and that is a rural area. Deleted from official final editing for it was too personal for her then?
    2. Summertime Sadness as we all know is a composition of committing to suicide

Then- also that news of Aaron Greene who was said to pass away by way of car accident.

    Even if you’re gone- I’m gonna drive…

Might be a stretch but I recall another line aforementioned

Yeah, no one has even watched her last video, and people want 2 more? Nah. Waste of time and money.

I want an upbeat song from Lana, something to dance to or workout at the gym. Maybe a collab.

It is possible that it wasn’t filmed for a song from Blue Banisters and just recycled for the album trailer but I doubt she would film something like that JUST as a trailer for an album she allegedly didn’t want anyone to hear. 😂
It may have been a video for Tulsa Jesus Freak or actually LMLYLAW.

Sadly I doubt there's much to discuss about BB's creative process.
She said herself it was kind of a response album cause she had stuff to say and she wanted to put it out quickly so she used the new songs she had relevant to those topics and then filled in the album with unreleased tracks she liked and/or made sense sonically. That's also probably why she randomly released the triple singles months in advance.

Is there any other confirmed outtake other than RCS? (that was a Chemtrails outtake anyway)

I think she started writing for Chemtrails and had songs like Chemtrails, TJF, and White Dress in 2019 because already had a concept forming and mentioned White Hot Forever as the title. If I’m not mistaken, it was after QFTC she kinda gave up on making new songs and just started reworking old stuff, I’m not sure about the timeline of Norman to Chemtrails, then stuffing Chemtrails with outtakes

I don't know if writing can be 'cinematic', but production wise cinematic would (in my opinion) be heavy orchestra/ build up and drops in general. Born To Die is cinematic with instrumentals, that violin in Ride, Yonge and Beautiful, a lot of her earlier material I would consider more cinematic, as she currently leans more into piano/acoustic/voice driven songs.

Her writing has changed in that it is more diaristic, more wordy, and more in her present thought. It leans heavier on meaning rather than quick hooks or "bops" production wise.

Tbh she has been world building and changing since 2012. You cannot speak about music in  2012 without referencing Lanas impact. She paved the way for a lot of artists to speak vulnerably about there feelings while seeming "unfeminist". When she came about, it was in a climate of "strong females" like Adele, Lorde, and Florence. And in comparison, the media wiped the floor with her for being so vulnerable and "unfeminist" for purely writing songs about her life experiences/ being weak without her man/ being emotionally and physically abused. And 10 years later they call her a visionary. My opinion is that the media was actually unfeminist in trying to silence her by reducing her to glamorizing her pain.

LFL is one interesting era indeed.
I wouldn’t change the album at all, as « imperfect » as it is (I don’t mind the different genres of it, but some songs could have benefited a bit more polishing with the trap beats, like Coachella and In My Feelings; they kinda clash with the tracks that have very pristine production), it reflected the state of the US in 2017 and my personal state of mind.

I love how the outtakes bring us closer to the witchy, folky, spacey Lana that I love so much. And as much as I love that initial concept, I’m not so sure we would have loved LFL as much as we say we would; I think a lot of people would have called it « Honeymoon snore fest 2.0 » (yes, this is how HM was perceived back then).

anyways, I want Cry Kill Die!

Radiohead is all about social anxiety, being unable to find peace and lasting human connections. Lana tells the story of her doomed romances and decay of the American dream. Although they sound different, they both share the same sadness / melancholy throughout.
