Lets talk about albums as drinks u gayssss! Born to Die was a cold beer, “Pabst blue ribbon on ice,” Paradise was sickly sweet “Pepsi Cola” accompanied by some slices of cherry pie, Ultraviolence mentions lemonade, but I attribute the album more to the “Bourbon” mentioned in Cruel World, Honeymoon is definitely lemonade (nothing gold can stay like love or lemonade) and “soft ice cream” (even though that’s not technically a drink) and LFL was Sangria!!! (Cherries and wine, rosemary and thyme) Now we have

i haven't been able to stop listening to the LMLYLAW demo her tone of voice, the heavy guitars, the released one even tho is kinda lame you can
tell it had potential and this UV demo proves that it is a good song, the execution was just wrong, it's so versatile that it's now one of her best and worst at the same time

Boz said rock candy sweet was just a phrase Lana liked and that phrase was from Loved you then and now (a song from cotcc)
Rock candy sweet was also the og title of blue banisters (album) as we all know but the tracklist was a bif different and loved you then and now was on it at some point but she scrapped it again (she changed the tracklist MANY times according to boz)
So we don't even know if there's a song called Rock Candy Sweet
From what I understood from boz's words
I guess there's not
Maybe she changed the song title (loved you then and now) to rock candy sweet at one point but who knows

From my understanding, Paradise and Tropico were two different projects she was working on at the same time.
Paradise - An extension of Born To Die.
Tropico - An EP that was evolved into an album, then later scrapped and turned into Ultraviolence.
If I had to pin-point the moment the "Tropico" concept was scrapped I would guess it would have actually been around maybe March/April 2013 when she created West Coast. It's very obvious that was a turning point in her sound considering everything made before that doesn't sound like the stuff after that.
I feel like everyone is just assuming the Tropico trio (BE, G&M, Bel Air) was meant to be in Tropico, but we also have no solid proof for that like we do some other songs, it would be weird for Lana to do that but it's also something she would do
I also don't think it was just a place-holder because it stuck around for so long, I'm thinking it was the true title until Tropico (Film) was fully realized and she changed it to an actual place-holder title which would have been 'Trans-Am' before making the final switch to 'Ultraviolence' but that's all speculation..
---
If I had to create a timeline out of what makes sense for me it would look something like this:
(Dates are when I think they would have actively been worked on)
Paradise (Random song version, including Hollywood's Dead, Damn You, Starry Eyed, JFK + others) [Feb 2012 - June 2012)
Tropico (Idea created + started recording songs for the intent of an album but was shut down by label for being too soon) [May 2012 - Dec 2012]
Paradise (Final) [Apr 2012 - Aug 2012]
-
Tropico (Album / EP) [Aug 2012 - Feb 2013] *Possibly Trans Am
Tropico EP (The film trio + I Talk To Jesus) [May 2013 - Sep 2013]
Rick Nowels' Ultraviolence (Album) [June 2013 - Dec 2013]
Tropico EP (Final, removal of ITTJ) [Sep 2013 - Oct 2013]
Ultraviolence (Final) [Dec 2013 - Mar 2014]

On the topic of fake things…
According to one of the song’s sound engineers, the “alt vocal take/demo” (snippet) of Flipside that “leaked” is not real either
Not my screenshot btw, one of my friends asked him.

There really isn't much to Sad Girl, she wrote it with Rick in late 2013. Then Dan reworked it, it got released, that's it. The demo that leaked is one of Dan's early demos.

There isn't any weird twist surrounding that song, but Jeez I feel like it has tons of mixes by tons of people and all sound shit and her vocals sound like she recorded them with a casio calculator. I just have no desire to piece them together for some timeline/purpose.
Cult Leader and Dragonslayer, are both real 2013 Rick produced, Kieron engineered songs

at first he said he lost everything, but it seems like from more recent emails he still has them, i remember @Future Jazz emailed him in 2020/2021 and david said something about wanting to release all of them but not doing so out of respect for lana

Didn’t David confirm he lost quite a few songs he did with her? I think that’s how we got the titles Bounce, Coconut and Key Lime Pie, and High. He confirmed via email with a fan that he lost quite a few songs but still remembers what they worked on. That’s why I’m scared a lot of AKA outtakes are gone forever. Although I got that info from Lanapedia which isn’t accurate all the time so I’m not sure of the source but it just seems weird for someone to make up

The real question is, @BlackoutZone does a drum mix really exist for Honeymoon? cause the live version is so good.

I think questions like this are broad in their subject... bc more versions, mixes, and demos exist of every song unless done in one take , never mastered, and all that .. probs just asking if anyone has them

@BlackoutZone Quick question regarding the BTD era.. did Emile Haynie rework any unreleased songs for BTD? Or did he specifically rework the 14 tracks on BTD?
