A "midwestern-sounding" album, about basically living "with an eccentric, chaotic mind"... a song with screaming... & she still sounds furious & intense in this interview, months later. I'm so ready for it.

I loved the interview. Btw, does she says she doesn't feel like she's doing okay literally when jack asked her? I wonder what is she talking about when she says it's gonna be a hard road going where she wants to be or something like that.

Pd: there's nothing wrong with a touch of country. Look at kacey musgraves, taylor, maren morris even carrie underwood, they're amazing songwriters and their music is really good, and not always the yee haw stereotyped type of country.

food for thought:

Sept 5th was give by Lana in May, probably without being definitively approved by her management 

so by the end of July they did the interview but she didn't state the date in that.. and probably the main intro paragraph (with the date) was done a few weeks later 

plus, it doesn't just say Sept 5th but simply 'this month' 

and this magazine was probably more approved by her management than her original ig post

she signed a deal for the books, not for her music

I agree, but at the same time the hardback has been on preorder for months now, people who really want it already have it ordered, or at least knows it exists

When Norman, she released FIILY and TG one week before the album came out, so she may do the same this time. She can drop LMLYLAW on the 13rd and the album on the 20th or LMLYLAW on the 20th and the album on the 27th.

Lana getting back at people that claim she's just feigning emotional fragility by saying "Well, not really. You're feigning emotional togetherness despite the fact that you're a wack-job Monday through Friday." Is the mental health awareness quote I didn't even know I needed up until now. You go Lanz.

Interesting stuff about her kind of striking it out on her own with her pets and slowly moving away from an L.A.-centric frame of mind and towards the midwest, even if she's not ready to actually leave the city physically for good. Really made me have to re-listen to 'l.a. who am I to love you' with this in mind, it totally changes things. She's definitely still growing as a person, which is really cool to see from an outside perspective.
Also, the title track + concept I had in my mind is, unsurprisingly far from accurate  White America concept SCRAPPED.

Chemtrails kind of could be a shallow song about her girlfriends and be pretty vague and unimpressive lyrically, or based on what this interview says, if its on a similar level of intimacy as NFR, it could also be about her coming to grips with how like, not normal her emotional disposition is (or rather, that it is normal, but her acceptance of it is Not seen as such) and looking up at the sky and seeing 'chemtrails' where others see contrails (so not so much conspiracy directly, but recognizing some kind of irregularity in thought or behavior or perception) and being accepted by her friends anyway... I'm totally spitballing and probably combining some elements about the album's inspiration + the song that may not be connected so literally, but if its even remotely close, I'm still fucking here for it

I just hope its not 'i love ashley and chuck and my cats etc... chemtrails - over the country club that's where we are'  what a waste of an iconic title it would be if its not even remotely related to the words in it lol.
