The Grammys will forever be a peculiar thing to me. Why does the US put so much emphasis on award that is decided by primarily old, white hags in the music industry? The stigma that a Grammy offers the title of maintaining a legacy in pop culture and in the media is thankfully coming to a halt with recent backlash from the Weeknd and others. As much as I would love for Lana to win a Grammy to say she has one, I love knowing that her success lies in the love she has from people around the world and the millions of people who still support her. COCC may be that ONE album that does get it though, we shall see.

this is completely opinion  based of course, but i really don't see chemtrails as a C+ or lower album. it's not my favorite lana album out of them all, there's just something about it though that has me playing it on loop all day. for me at least, it's definitely a grower.

I think what's especially beautiful about this album is how transitional it is. in theme, in sound. in lyrics even. 

I can understand and know how unsettling that kind of shift can be, which can be heard from her own self critique. to how more subdued the music is. but. it really is a beautiful piece.

i thought i knew what the issue was but i'm not sure - is that NAWWAL is 4:07 but only plays to 4:05 and then goes to yosemite, but the first 2 seconds of yosemite are at the end of NAWWAL? if that makes sense?

Don't even worry about it. AV Club and Sputnik were always going to give her a bad review. AV Club spent their entire review talking about how Chemtrails pales in comparison to NFR, but they only gave NFR a "B" rating. The reviewer from Sputnik has always been a Lana hater and planned on giving her album a bad score in advance. These are the types of reviews I've been expecting - they're immature and unprofessional, but that's why not many people take journalism seriously these days. I'm just thankful (and pleasantly surprised) we're still in the 80s on Metacritic.

White Dress is definitely up there with Venice Bitch, West Coast, and Honeymoon as my top-tier Lana tracks/favourite tracks of all time. Wow

White Dress has grown on me a lot. I love it. The talent Lana has with songwriting is incredible. I didn’t not love it before but it just gave me weird vibes and anxiety to the point where I couldn’t listen to it, but now it’s okay. Yosemite however is another story. I want to love it sm and I think it’s good, it just gives me unexplainable feelings that I can’t deal with rn. I end up skipping it and I’m sad bc it was the song I was looking forward to most on this album after reading about all the hype it’s gotten for the last couple years. Maybe in time.

Dance Till We Die/For Free is also cut wrong on Spotify but it is less noticeable. I hope they fix the both issues soon.
