Triple single release: Blue Banisters, Text Book, & Wildflower Wildfire - OUT NOW

Recommended Posts

The slightly unpolished production, the lack of acknowledging the release, the (let’s face it) unflattering single covers... I have to assume it’s all a deliberate exercise in confronting her insecurities and desire for perfection. I’d imagine that if I was a highly scrutinised celebrity there would be something liberating about just throwing out art without all of the polish and marketing BS that normally goes into campaigns. Maybe she’s done with the fame game but she still wants to be keep being an artist (thank god)

Still nothing has clicked for me even after a couple listens. I really don't like the mixing and the production at all:bebe:

The lyrics and Lana's vocals are really impressive but it's everything else that's a massive letdown. It's not for me but I'm glad it's rocking most of y'alls boats :thankyou:

It’ll be interesting to see how people like Ajay and anthony review these omg I feel like I can’t even be mad if people don’t like it cuz these are hyper personal and they might be hard to relate to for some people I feel like that’s fair just as long as you can acknowledge the artistry of it

my favorite part about lana releasing music is seeing people's reactions to it, so i'm super excited!

Don't wanna break your heart

Wanna give your heart a break

I know your scared it's wrong

Like you might make a mistake

There's just one life to live

And there's no time to wait to waste

So let me give your heart a break

I cannot get over this classic Americana imagery she has painted for us; summer coming and going, homemade birthday cakes, chicken running and being barefoot in the yard, hot coffee on a hot day, vintage Ford cars, painting banisters, and dogs swimming in a salty bay...

What I love most about her songbook is the feeling, how you can almost stand in that moment with her as she’s singing and see the sights, smell the scents, hear the goings-on. It’s like a painting come to life. These scenes could easily be from an Edward Hopper, or more uncannily, Norman Rockwell painting. :bored:

Does anyone else think that maybe these are the Iron Gates poems in spoken word format?

Because these songs really seem like poems with music so maybe they're like a step up from the spoken VBBOTG

It explains the singles covers (sort of) and the two album thing and etc

ur legit gonna look the same stop buying oil of Olay face cream

You can't blacken the pages with Russian poetry and be happy." - Blue Banisters

I asked Asmodeus (the demon of lust) to make Miley Cyrus suffer. I am not happy with these new developments. After Miley rips off Lana's aesthetic, she bullies Lana into changing her release date. It is infuriating.

Anthony is so predictable at this point lmao, his review will include something about how her early work was immature and a façade trying to gaslight the public into thinking she's someone she isn't then he'll bring up how the new album doesn't equate to the prestige sophistication of NFR but it's still a step in the right direction from the calamity that was her first 3 albums. he says the same thing every time :et:

i love you, but you don't understand me.
