:holla: venice bitch stamped on west coast and buried it 50000000 ft under :holla:

Jkjk.:brows:

Venice Bitch and West Coast are both her most interesting songs, but I would say that West Coast managed to slay me under 5 minutes, whereas Venice Bitch was a slow burner. West Coast remains on top for being hypnotic and intoxicating. Can't wait to see where Watercolor Eyes will fit in all of this. :oprah3:

Been listening to Wait for Life. It has got to be one of my favorites. Her voice is so dreamy, sad yet soothing, fragile yet larger-than-life. I’m so happy that she exists somewhere out there!

I remember hearing it on the radio during the Honeymoon era. I felt like I was in heaven. It felt so nice that even though Honeymoon was so underplayed, they gave Wait for Life some radio time, like no one could escape hearing a little Lana no matter what turn her music took :blush2:

Just learned that Sylvia Plath and Lou Reed, two artists Lana has referenced in her music, both had received electroshock therapy during their lifetimes. Interesting.

Ernest Hemingway and Tammy Wynette have both discussed their ECT treatments as well! (Although, Hemingway’s references in Lana’s discography were mentions of his works than of Ernest himself.)

“…and this is all I looked for all my life – to be able to give of my love, my spontaneous joy, unreservedly, with no fear of…misuse, betrayal.”

I still need an Alex Turner × Lana collab:true::trisha:

Swan Song. It’s on my album Honeymoon. It’s the antithesis of hopefulness. It’s about trying to find beauty in giving up. If I had my way, I would continue to persist in all areas of my life, but it can be quite challenging because I can be too trusting too soon.":sadcore2:

Idk if this guy is being serious, but can you imagine if this actually happened?

Interesting! If this is true, could it have been the video for Change that never got greenlit? She mentioned wanting to incorporate nuclear imagery and people around her shutting that down because of its overexposure at that point — perhaps this was part of it!

If it's true, it had to have been for Change. I can't think of any other song besides When The World Was At War that would've fit that type of video, and as far as I know, she never openly discussed any plans for that song to have a video. It would make sense if it was shut down not only because of the nuclear imagery, but also because of her not wanting to use the video for recruitment.

I can imagine Lana sitting in a tank, but the “door” (top lid?) is open so she can look out.

This is really interesting, I wonder what it would’ve looked like if they had filmed it. I imagine the cool space-sky aesthetics Love had, but that MV was made by another director so I guess it might’ve been something completely different...
