IanadeIrey 62,124 Posted November 6 It’s so interesting to see this happen in real time as a Canadian because, while obviously not American, I’m in the country that is the most culturally similar to the States. And it’s interesting to see, while people didn’t necessarily agree with everything Obama did, what his presidency represented for America’s social progress and the image that America imparted to the rest of the world. But now that feels like an exception to the American rule of politics, and perhaps what was always an ultra-conservative nation is now heading towards an extreme fulfillment of its form. The pendulum has swung back again and the line between cause and effect is blurry. America exists as a paradoxical nation in so many ways, and to semi-outsiders like myself, it’s always going to both dazzle and dizzy me.

Honestly I don’t really know much about her because I’m not as familiar with many governors in other states. I’d have to research more but from what I’ve seen, she seems decent. I have some faith enough people will see trumps true colors after his next term. At least I hope 1 Quote ♡︎

I'm more at peace knowing my dad, brother, and myself voted for Kamala, but it's still so disheartening. I voted with my sister, my friends, my mother, my grandmother, everyone in mind. It shows how machismo is still very much a thing in our culture, and it's crazy that Mexico was able to have their first woman president before us. I was just thinking this, it's wild that Mexico with its deeply rooted machismo culture still managed to get its first woman president before the U.S, who seems to be going backwards at full speed and Sheinbaum won by a landslide too, even when she was competing against a conservative woman and a man with relative popularity. She's holding off congratulating him too, she says she's waiting for the counts to finish. I just know she's disappointed she didn't get to congratulate Kamala 8 Quote Those summer nights seem long ago And so is the girl you used to call The queen of New York City

rosemead ramada 6,731 Posted November 6 The nonsense I heard from Trump supporters at work today. And I live in a very Democratic area. I give up. I actively hope for the demise of this country. I heard it all. It's a disgrace Kamala didn't concede last night (I'm sorry, but Trump 2020, are you serious?). We're all Americans and should be unified and loving to everyone (I'm sorry, was Trump literally not weeks ago calling Democrats the evil within this country?). I literally heard one guy say that he bets Putin is really upset because Putin wanted Kamala bc he could push her around but Trump will stand up to him. This country is irredeemably gone people
