all I can think is that she was trying to make the album in to something it’s not by trying to cram on some mediocre “country” songs, so that it would be in line with lasso being a big country record

 

she probably had 13 songs she really loved biut they didn’t really identify as country (more southern gothic leaning).. so has decided to just scrap the country record for now (or potentially indefinitely) to get the songs out she loves. And let’s be honest, she does love a hip hop/ trap beat.. that can fit in with southern gothic much easier than country

Henry seems to pick up in the chorus/prechorus at the end of the snippet so I don't think it will be a slow acoustic song but I don't expect a banger either unless she reworked it or it goes crazy after the guitar intro 

 

And I agree with some of you... I can't see the fenway intro on this album  I know she has really different songs on her records but that one sounds straight from BTD or Paradise so I could only see it on a full album of tracks like that (but I hope I'm wrong cause it sounds soooo good)

She wouldn't need at least four different producers if all the songs were simply stripped back and sound the same.

Like @ultrabanisters said, to go with the UK shows announcement. Also, probably to clarify that the album is done and give us some kind of update on the new timeline of it: she knows she said two singles would be out by the end of the year and I don’t see that happening.

Blue Banisters is one of those albums that is rather "incohesive" than samey tbh, like Wildflower, Black Bathing Suit, Text Book, The Trio, Beautiful and Nectar Of The Gods sound all different imo.

 

And I think she's having 4 different producers for the album because they're also songwriters and last year she said to Hollywood Reporter that she's working with a different songwriter (I think she meant Luke Laird then), because she felt the need to "edit" her lyrics after Ocean Blvd ⬇️

A few years back, you said that you started editing yourself because your lyrics were too personal. Are you still doing that?

Only in the past two months! I’ve never had someone make comments on my lyrics before, and then I recently met up with another writer. It’s a little bit of a different process now. For Tunnel, I did not edit myself. 

 

But also I really like Nectar and Earthquakes and Henry does give me vibes of Tropico original concept, so I'd be happy with that as long as the vocals are crystal clear (which seems to be the case in Henry)

We’re stanning an artist who went to Mike Dean and created a piano ballad with crusty sound effects as outro, I 100% can imagine her having four different songwriters and still coming up with something very stripped back lol

That is incorrect. Producers' retention is subject to availability. If Jack is busy with Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift or whoever, then she would go to Luke with the same production notes.

 

If Luke is busy, she would then go to the next one available producer, and so on. This is very likely the case with an album that's been in the making for years.

 

Typically, you want your songs to sound cohesive, just like UV was cohesive.

 

The album has 4+ producers, but that absolutely doesn't mean that all of the songs won't be stripped back and 'sound the same'. Especially when all four have done similar,  piano and acoustic-friendly work before. 

 

Now if Cirkut, Andrew Watt or Emile Haynie were also named, that would be a completely different story.

We only know one short snippet of one song and the producers of the album are almost the same as of Ocean Blvd. It's like saying that all the songs from Ocean Blvd would sound like Did You Know after hearing just a snippet of that song.

If The Right Person Will Stay is Lasso (and not a double album in a delulu land) then as we know, she worked on that album for 4 or probably 5 years now and that obviously means that she has worked with a lot of people for that and maybe this album has like 200 outtakes and she chose 13 songs out of that bunch for a cohesive record.

I don't expect much cohesiveness but I also think she selected the 13 best songs out of a larger pool. Some songs will be country-like (produced by Luke), some (hopefully) cinematic with strings (produced by Drew) and some acoustic or experimental with Jack. The songs will supposedly have been recorded separately and the producers didn't all work together properly due to time constraints, at least I imagine that would have been difficult.

I wouldn’t agree. On her albums there is always one song that doesn’t like fit perfectly to the vibe of the album (freak, god bless, bartender or fishtail) I know it’s only my opinion and yall are gonna kill me but I think there’s always a not fitting to the era song on each album.
