I don't personally really like the orchestra style of Drew Erickson, I feel like his strings are too muted or lowkey (which is my only problem about songs like Ocean Blvd - even though I still love it). I need to have a dramatic orchestra, like film score-type strings. Dan Heath and Patrick Warren executed that perfectly. Heath's alternate versions of Young & Beautiful, West Coast and Ultraviolence demo/Melancholia are heavenly. 

 

Exactly--lush orchestration--think how lovely Wait For Life still is. It's one of the unsung stars in her crown. Or 13 Beaches. I don't expect we'll get much or any of that on TRPWS, given Lana's comments about it, near and far, but we can hope. Some want a more basic, cleaner sound with Lana speaking directly from the heart, and others, more the chamelon soul Lana of old, dramatic, role-playing, powerful, Romantic with a capital R, intense. I'm in the latter camp.

Maybe she's finally gonna get her dream of a surprise drop. Picture this: she announced May 21, but then was like wait this could be my chance! Vinyls sent to pressing back in January, she'll release Henry and maybe another song shortly before Stagecoach, then on stage during her show she'll say I'm sorry but I don't know when the album is coming, then May 21 SURPRISE!

She said a "few songs" will come before Stagecoach, which is a month away - they ain't.

 

Let's no kid ourselves that there's any vinyl pressing goin' on. May 21st is not happenin'
