She should just release it as a one off single on the anniversary of the Fenway performance as a way to make up to us fans who went and only got a 50 min show

Wow. Not only are we in an absolute information desert with no clear sign anything will actually be coming anytime soon, the little bits of tea we do have are that the album is boring and bad. 
 

I think this is officially the worst prerelease at this point, no debate.

Add to that, it sounds like she came into a studio, sang it in one take, with the one musician on the guitar also winging it, and they both left and grabbed a beer.

 

I don't even consider it music tbh. It's someone else's work, and they made ZERO effort to cover it.

I wasn't surprised that Courtney Love - a great musician in her own right, check out her Live Through This album - literally went off on Lana because of this song. Being lazy about covering someone else's brilliant song is just not it

The longer she drags it out the more disappointed we will be, factually. No song can live up to a year and a half tease, if we get to that point.

I wouldn't say that the vocal performance was low or that it could been a.i.

It outstreamed a lot of songs including Arcadia, White Dress and Taco Truck.

This is just my opinion, but it was one of Lana's laziest vocal takes. She did nothing out of the ordinary on it, compared to, for example, White Dress that you've mentioned. Even the Abyss showed more range and virtuoso, and she's barely in that.

The reason why it has a higher ranking is that it's a much more accessible song compared to Taco Truck or Arcadia (easy listen). It's also a great song in terms of the way it's written so, of course, people would like it. But we as Lana fans know she can do much, much better. Especially when we look at Doin' Time vs. the original, or Goodnight Kiss vs. the Original.

By 'lowest vocal performance in recent years', I meant that she wasn't singing in her higher voice which she started singing in since NFR-COTCC. The vocal tone of that cover reminded me of her vocals 2013 outtakes. Also Henry, she's using her lower vocals in Henry as well.

 

While I love both of her vocal uses, I very much prefer her lower register vocals than her high head voice. Hence why I really miss her low vocal performances, that's what made me fell in love with Lana. I hope that those low vocals come back for The Right Person Will Stay, which can be heard in the first verse of Henry Come On, in that snippet she shared.

Thanks for clarifying. And I'm with you. Her rich alto on Born to Die, Ride, Doin' Time or Ocean Boulevard is literally everything.

 

That being said, I like that she has a tonne of songs in her higher register like National Anthem,  Cola, Shades of Cool, end even more recent ones like Paris, Texas, and White Dress. It'd very samey if it's all lower register, and also: it's key for an artist to mix it up and experiment with their voice.

At this point I'm fully ready for this album to complete the unholy trinity of LFL and COCC. Expectations are at lowest for me for a Lana project but I feel like it can actually help me enjoy it in the end.
