i think that's a valid way to deal with it tbh, a lot of people leave social media because of it's toxicity and most of the times it makes them feel better. i understand where you're coming from but not everyone can build a shell or turn into IDGAF mode to not care about criticism. if some friends of mine criticize me or my work and end up getting into my mental health (and this has happened to me before), i don't just deal with it and find a way to not care about it, i cut them out of my life temporarily or permanently

just because she deactivated and doesn’t promote it publicly doesn’t mean she doesn’t care about her hard work. i’d also be sick and tired of being on social media and of publicly promoting my work if i got shit for my art and for every step i took by the media and bored teenagers on stan twitter who chronically live online. praying the album doesn’t leak.

blue banisters (title track) is one of her best songs in years, and is easily my favourite so far in terms of singles. the replayability alone, PHEWWW... i'm on like 300+ streams so far and it still sounds as fresh as ever. i will be accepting no slander 
 
arcadia, wfwf and tb are all incredible too, and even if you subjectively dislike the songs, the lyrics are objectively amazing and so well thought out

I'm kinda sure that either IYLDWM or Beautiful will be one of the huge "suprise fan favourites" that no one expected because we were all so hyped/fo cussed for Black Bathing Suit and Sweet Caroline while those two titles don't really induce a lot/ we don't have any information on them.
For some reason I expect Violets For Flowers to be a cute, but not really outstanding song (but I'm happy to be proven wrong)

According to science it‘s simply impossible to turn Thunder into a boring song 

I know that the whole "thunder has piano" thing put quite a few people off, but what really excited me about it was hearing about the build up of it. Hearing all the different instruments that are gonna be used is something I'm looking forward to. I think the newer version is gonna fit BB better than the version we have right now 

So I have a theory about Black Bathing Suit. 
 
Insiders have described it as an invite. Knowing that it follows Arcadia, I could see it being a metaphor for how she feels she has to censor her body. The black bathing suit could be the censor box we often see in television and this song could be her urge to rip off the black bathing suit and be free in her body and a big fuck you to anyone who has anything bad to say about it. 
 
The way Arcadia ends/the trio interlude makes it seem like she’s just getting started in terms of talking about her body.
 
Just a bit of speculation while we wait for the album but I would love if she went in this direction

Yes, Stans wanted an 'unreleased' album, but I think most wanted the unreleased but leaked material on a separate, stand-alone album, not mixed in with new material.
 
Now that she's doing this, she may continue this practice going forward, with 'Serene Queen,' 'JFK,' 'Hollywood,' 'Valley of the Dolls,' 'Angels Forever,' etc. 
 
Personally, I would expect critics to take notice and at least mention this, if not drag her for it. 
 
I may not like her choices on occasion, but I stand by her total right to make whatever artistic choices she sees fit. 
It's lyrically very clever too. I miss the sometimes-humorous LDR of that era.

'Text Book' and 'Blue Banisters' are ahead of their time and her best songs ever.

God, I fall more in love with Wildflower Wildfire every day.  The singles are all so damn beautiful, but WW has aged like the finest wine. A month seems too far away - I need the full album now.

Wildflower Wildfire is literally better with each listen
Text Book is such a classic and is so dreamy
Blue Banisters is such a beautiful story and it shines like the sun after a rain storm

And this very thread magnifies the problem with stan culture — there are no boundaries and people think they are entitled to police an artist’s life! You can voice how much you will miss not being able to connect with Lana online without being a micro-manager — in fact, I think, if anything, the response she’s gotten for deactivating absolutely reinforces her decision to do so.

it’s so weird seeing people post paragraphs bashing her and her decision as if it makes any real difference in their day to day lives. 
 
Lana is human and she made a decision for herself. She’s not obligated to have social media, she isn’t going to flop because she isn’t posting once a week on Instagram, and I’m sure eventually when she feels up to it, she’ll be back
