ok eternal sunshine (song) was a bit too generic for me, but i'm glad that the tracks haven't been dance genre like 'yes, and' so far

no fr I was listening to old stuff for the past week and both ghostin and IMH are heartbreakingly beautiful

Listening to this album today has made me reflect on Ari bops from the past… 
 
good god… Maybe it just nostalgia, but this will never be topped

I’ve had a little more time with the album. I’ve taken walks on my breaks while listening and it’s nice and sunny out and I think I’m catching the vibe more. It definitely does feel warm and spring like, and is more cohesive than Positions (aside from Yes And, which is the worst track on the record). I agree with the others that the production is really good. I don’t think it’s better than Dangerous Woman, Sweetener, or Thank U Next though 

A September release makes me hope for a warm, hazy, dreamy, southern gothic sister to Honeymoon. Abstract lyrics versus her more recent diaristic lyrics and a cohesive vibey album that can soundtrack the end of summer / beginning of fall season.

I dunno, I kind of agree with the others that say it’s like Positions 2.0; all of the tracks seem to run together like one long song.  I really loved everything about Dangerous Woman and I guess that’s where my head is still at. Maybe it will grow on me. :-/

Whew, YA feels soooo out of place. And the album is so short.
Just finished the first listen and I am... disappointed. Though, I felt like YA was absolute shit when I first heard it (and later realised it is a bop). And I (actually do) like Positions, after feeling "wth is this?" about it for a time, so... 
It'll hopefully & probably grow on me! 
 

got my first ethel cain inspired tattoo yesterday and i plan on getting more 

i listened to american teenager for the first time last night and i LOVED IT  before that, i've never listened to an ethel cain song before, so it was very new to me, i also listened to crush but i wasn't into it nearly as much, but i'll definitely be exploring more of her music!

do we think that Eternal Sunshine as the name also connects to Ethan Slater's intials? She's done it before with Pete

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my fav movies so I'm actually excited. I rly hope "yes, and?" is an outlier though.... scared

NEED to know more about Taco Truck x VB. It is lowkey the most interesting song on the record and we know nothing about it. I want to know the creative process behind it. 
 
And if there is a longer version of Taco Truck I need it neowwww. The longest I’ll wait is April 1st

I can see that, I think it’s me being nitpicky because I tend to like/connect with her album titles when she announces them right away.  I do think though that Ultraviolence isn’t too on the nose, I feel like an equivalent to “Lasso” for UV would be “Drugs” or “Guns” or something similar lol but it’s too soon to say without listening to the album. I agree that Honeymoon is a great example of a simple title that works.
 
I think my thoughts about “Lasso” stems from the fact that it’s an object rather than an idea/concept, which I feel separates it from her other titles

She has said there’s some BOPs and even a Fantasy-like song in the album but I don’t know if I can trust her word that much… to me sounds more of a cashgrab to capitalize on the recent scandals and the Wicked hype 
 
idk.. she seems a little unlikeable to me. Mocking someone going to jail after leaking a song… I mean, it was wrong but idk if it deserves that much of a punishment (a stalker who broke in her home multiple times got less time than the leaker). Even if she’s mad about the situation (which I understand) I find it of poor taste to make fun of the person. She should know to be better than that, makes her look a little petty. Specially with the new message she’s trying to portray in Yes, And? Looking for the public’s sympathy while she doesn’t have any 
 
after all, we live in a society that values more intellectual property than actual humans! Insane! 
 
Ps: The Boy Is Mine is… an interesting title to say the least… I know she’s trying to play with the controversy and all, but seems very… disrespectful!

The way she put all her eggs in one basket and is milking the shit out of Yes And gives me low hopes for the album Like there’s no way this annoying ass Urban Outfitters dance beat is the lead single and worthy of 10,000 different versions and a featured remix. I think i remember seeing in an Instagram story that she said Yes And was her favorite song she’s ever made  Ari have we forgotten about Bad Idea? In My head???

I remember getting into her stuff during a not so good time, and things are great now, but just falling in love with the magic again. she's a cancer sun/moon midpoint, and I remember going to a live event she's got such a great energy 
 

Stan card renewed....I kinda lost touch and when the singles dropped I got scared if I had lost interest in new Allie music altogether, but having had the album on repeat since release I'm confident in my eternal love for Miss Hughes
 
my favourites as of now are definitely Weird World, Galina, Staying Power and John & Jonathan. I don't understand the hate for John & Jonathan, such a tune

My favourites for sure are: 
 
1.      Black Eye (that last chorus still gives me the serotonin) 
2.      Galina (her voice in the second verse… wow) 
3.      Saddest Smile (so haunting) 
4.      Off With Her Tits (a BOP) 
5.      You Slept On Me 
 
the rest are good but I would say my least favourites are John and Jonathan and Hardware Software. An enjoyable listen nonetheless
