This has officially beaten Cruel World as my favorite Lana song ever. Both are very cold at one pont and then turn fucking hot at another, but Heroin's build up to the climax is better than Cruel World's in my opinion. Amazing. And we're so lucky this is the longest song on the record. It can really soothe my mood if I'm angry or stressed.

Nevada would've been a nice album name. I love names of places as titles for stuff like movies or songs or albums (Yosemite )
Naming LFL as Best American Record would've taken so much audacity from Lana lol. The concept would've been nice and one of the themes would've been Lana in love with an artist right? (BAR, WM, GL, the last two make me think it's still a theme on LFL)

Best American Record
He was cool as heck
He was cool as heck...
I feel like I don't even need to mention What about all these children, and what about all their parents? And what about all the crowns their wear in hair so long like mine? of Chokechella but this thread is that lyric's home.
I love Tomorrow Never Came but:
-Whywhywhywhywhywhywhy? People always laugh when I play that song. In that specific part.
-Isn't life crazy I said, now that I'm singing with Sean?
Get Free is one of the best songs in Lust For Life but:
I feel like the second verse could've been worded better Like my part was I, was not discerning, and you as we found out, were not in your right mind. The message of the lyrics is actually nice but it feels forced or gramatically incorrect (even though it's not). Unless that's the point or I'm missing something.

In Raibows is my favorite album by them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq2VStLSYW0
Paranoid Android is my favorite song by them, it's so well done. It combines three types of sound and it has this "electronic" sound in the guitar

We really should do them again.
Btw did you see the last demographics on the Lana subreddit? Most of the users there are young, straight, atheist males

That's perfect tbh, I'd also add that Dealer based on the title alone would fit on UV too (and vocally perhaps).

I think Arcadia is a very pretty song

The Wildflower Wildfire slander is the reason nobody leaks shit. You don't deserve it.
Lana doing mumble talking and calling it singing is not something I'd give my life up for. But to each his own

Friendly reminder that even if someone is annoying us in the thread, it’s not right to make fun of their English proficiency! Friendly reminder that this is an international forum and no one is less intelligent because of their language fluencies! Thanks

I don't know if we talked about this enough but the way "Arcadia" ends and its transition to "Wildflower Wildfire" IS SUCH A FUCKING SERVE ALREADY when it's just pre-release single album placement, not actual tracklist

Random thoughts on the album:
- Text Book is all about her daddy issues; WFWF is all about her mommy issues, so maybe the album has two parts: first, how her daddy issues impacted her relationships and how her mommy issues impacted them as well;
- Sweet Carolina could be how she made peace with her dad, or has some hints at it (since he co-write it);
- Arcadia is probably the word she did say summarized the last 18 months of her life and that she alluded to in an interview (Music Week? Can’t remember);
- BoZ saying Arcadia was mainly piano makes me wonder if he heard the MV version, with little to no strings and horns;
- The horns on Arcadia bring a sorta victory sound to her « battle » with critics.

Well well well... after lurking on LB for over 2 years I've finally decided to create an account lmao
I guess I've kinda been a part of this community for quite some time now already... but now I FINALLY get to be a part of the discussions (and the meltdowns)!!!
Anyways, I'm as excited for BB as y'all are - and I'm SO glad Text Book is the opener since it's really become one of my favorite Lana songs over the past few months

I think there's a few songs on COCC that nobody really needed or listens to, which maybe could have been released as singles or a short EP instead (Breaking Up Slowly for example). On the other hand, there are really beautiful songs like White Dress, Chemtrails, TJF, Yosemite(!!!) which would be perfect as additional songs for a deluxe version of BB. Idk, I feel like especially these 4 songs really deserved better than this rushed "era"...

listening to Chemtrails and then starting what we have it BB is actually great. they sound like they really should've been 2 disc sets and were meant to go together. textbook after Dance till We Die (bc we skip For Free) is perfect

I’m honestly really torn on what the critical reception for this record will be. I’m expecting for her to at least beat LFL’s score on Metacritic as signs are pointing to it being her most mature work to date, but I’m not sure past that!
She’s definitely taking risks with this record, but it’s tough to say how her creative choices will be received. Dealer is definitely going to be a toss-up with critics, but the track’s more atypical elements make perfect since in the context of the song’s meaning.
Text Book’s lyrics have—as far as I’ve seen from music reviewers—been noted positively, but the lines of the chorus have been criticized by less established listeners.
I’m anticipating criticisms of cohesion because of the interlude’s production next to all of the tracks we’ve heard, but it’s worth noting there’s a portion of the album we haven’t heard yet.
The triple singles (in my opinion) have some of her best songwriting to date, but how will critics feel about the lyrics from her earlier works? Will they even notice a difference, or will they have a bias towards them?
I honestly have no idea what to expect, but I would be shocked if she hits below 75. I’m hoping for a 90, but maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my end—a mid-80s is probably more realistic
