The idea is great, but realistically 50% of that record would be screams from the audience and pre-rechorded backing vox. I'm afraid the opportunity to do a good live album has passed ever since the Endless Summer tour ended.

I think most of the Chemtrails songs were written at the same time as NFR, it's just that the Chemtrails songs are only "second choice" because the best ones already ended up on NFR.
 
I'm not sure if Lasso will also only have "2nd choice songs" since Lana has been working on the album in parallel for so long. On the other hand, Jack has raved about it so much that I'm hoping for better.

It's a song that sounds like a draft. There's no chord progression, the second verse sounds like the first, there's no bridge (from what I remember). Basically, it's the same chords and same melodies over and over,  replete with mid production, and then the song ends. It's a filler track. That and "For  Free'. And the album is already pretty darn short, so there shouldn't be any fillers. And that's why Chemtrails is a 7.5, for me. Pitchfork got it right.
 
I still ADORE the trio of Wild at Heart, White Dress an Chemtrails tho.OB - as much as I love it - doesn't have a trio of songs that sound that cohesive sonically. Let alone BB.
 
I will ignore your Summer Bummer slander. It's the last purely FUN original track Lana has produced. Just fucking around in the studio. To be honest, I miss this side of her. Peppers came close but it's nowhere near as good.

Tulsa Jesus Freak is the one that got away tbh, it's always felt a little undercooked. My dream would be for it to be reworked to its full potential and put on this album.

I don’t hate her, but I hate the way her voice overpowers lana’s, you can barely hear lana when they sing the same verse/chorus together, breaking up slowly feels more like “feat. Lana del rey”, she’s just too much

Looking at the lyrics of L&F and ADIAML I am NOT looking forward to this.
 
Unrelated to the book - I just listened to The Last Dinner Party's debut record and I feel like it's givibg major TFJ/Die Life vibes. So if you are an "early MATD" fan, you shouldprobably check that out!

The Chemtrails album cover was worse than the question for the culture post. 

And its arguably her weakest one

Not to hate on him (truly appreciate some of his work), but Grammys arent any proof of his qualities as a producer. I'd say every non-Jack-produced Lana album has better production than the ones he's done, and none of them got any Grammy recognition either.

I prefer 16 tracks with an average length of 5 min over 27 that are probably much shorter

i do agree that laura's mixing is too quiet. When chemtrails comes up in my playlist, i feel like i've gone deaf. Especially after btd of uv

i wonder how he feels about lana collaborating with jack on their 6th album together without actively involving him.

I know we get mad at Lana sometimes for paying a lot of her recent music dust at concerts & singing a bunch of BTD songs every time.. but I think honestly if Marina does a tour…  she should take a note out of Lana’s book and not play much, if any, of her last two albums <3
