Maybe she would've posted about the release of the music video at the very first moment, telling fans how much it meant to her and how much work it took, instead of posting a couple of random pics and remembering the music video 3 months later and being surprised at the low views.

Truly one of her best videos so I get her frustration  It's not really a music video though, it needs to be properly focused on like a film to be appreciated.

Yeah labels barely give out budgets for music videos now. They generally only clear one with a low-moderate budget (depending on artist status - huge artists obviously generally exempt) and then determine the budget for the second (which is usually also the final) MV of the era depending on how the first MV performed

although i understand why some might not like this mv, it's certainly not bad! i do think it's much different than stuff she has released in the path, but i really like how she went in a different direction with candy necklace. definitely shows how she has changed in her career and life, which reflects ob's message of growth and reframing the past. in my opinion

The video is too long for YouTube kids have an attention span of 2 mins 30 seconds. 

Because some fans simply don’t see or analyze all that creative depth.

I think you guys are really taking this too seriously 

The footage in itself was cute, and she looked stunning, but her "vision" made it hard to watch honestly. Would've been infinitely better with a full "film noir" aesthetic from start to finish and the BTS sequence at the end. It just did not flow well storytelling wise. Also the "people have a short attention span" argument is a bit exaggerated, "Ride" is 10 minutes long, has an intro and an outro, but it has 150+ million views (and I understand that it was released 10 years ago), but that video is cohesive--Candy Necklace, while beautiful, is not.
 
She also dropped the video at the most random time without any promotion whatsoever... I understand that promotion wise she's into the "less is more mindset", but her feeling upset, while valid, seems a bit misplaced. I guess this post is her idea of promoting.

I get that everybody's joking, but she didn't post 'This was expensive' to mean 'I need to recoup a few hundred dollars from Youtube so go and watch it'; she meant 'we put a lot of money and effort into this. Go and watch it'.
Also, I've never seen a better example of entitlement and 'it's all about MEEEEEEEEEEE' than that comment. I hope they're only 13 years old and grow out of it by 15.
