why are people still expecting upbeat pop songs from her in 2021

the way this *fake* tracklist has actually got my heart rate up. if what sjatib said is true (i don't remember), i hope any song that does explore those themes is titled differently or will be retitled.
 
'trail of tears' is not a song title. it was genocide. as a song title, would be synonymous with 'forced displacement, death marches, violence, starvation, death, and ONGOING traumatic effects on the Native American population today' so OBVIOUSLY as a song title, would be incredibly insensitive (at the very fucking least) for Native Americans. 
 
i love lana and have always trusted her but i'm... stressed!  

I've missed a few pages but since we're still discussing it for some reason, is there any reason this tracklist is more trustworthy than the dozen others that are 'leaked'? Like, surely this is just as fake as the rest right?

They totally got Pushing Up Daisies from the recent IG post about her will and threw in Trail of Tears to cause a stir.

There are certain RULES around making a fake Lana tracklist and they broke them
For example you need at least one title that's really long and awkward-sounding. All of those are too succinct.

I really hope the tracklist is fake...'Songbird,' one of the blandest, most overly-used titles ever?
 
I doubt she would title a song 'Trail of Tears,' as, regardless of the 'Ride' video and the recent talk of donating to Native American causes, it's a subject I believe she doesn't know a great deal about and has no authentic personal or familial history with. From what I've seen of her choice in reading material, she tends towards secondary or tertiary sources and 'lite' versions of whatever the subject is that interests her. Which is fair enough. 
 
We don't know for a fact that LDR's an actual admirer of Sylvia Plath's poetry per se either, but Plath is mostly known for her early promise, 1950s marriage, mental illness, book 'The Bell Jar,' and especially her suicide. Even in the mid-70s, it was Plath's life and legend, not her poetry, that sustained her reputation. 
 
IF LDR were to co-opt the phrase 'trail of tears' completely for her own personal use, that would be a terrible and foolhardy mistake on her part, and hopefully, she would know better. 

this!! She’s been so low key since QFTC (sorry) but her looks w Gucci are some of my fav of all time and I’d love to see her serve over the top glam on the red carpet again- and of course the met gala would be the perfect place to do just that

I believe Lorde’s album was only available in a store that didn’t know it wasn’t out yet, and only a few fans were able to buy the album before it got removed from the shelves. And they promised they wouldn’t leak it to do no harm. On the other hand, when Lana’s albums are sold in stores before the official release date, fans don’t hesitate to leak them all over the internet. I guess fans are part of the problem, the fault isn’t entirely theirs, but Lorde’s fans are more respectful towards her music than Lana’s

yeah I most definitely will! my friends have really complimented s4 overall saying that it's the best since s1  i'm excited to see where it goes next
 
 
sorry you had to go through that :/ this show does a great job in delivering the characters' emotions for sure. I'm not sure whether I love or hate how the real villain is the patriarchy and the men of Gilead, but they still made the most notable villains women - Aunt Lydia and Serena, like you mentioned. yet, we are supposed to like Nick or feel sorry for him since hE LOveS jUne  I really hoped that a show like this would stay clean of all the love triangle/ship serving shit, like women have stripped out from their human rights and are sex slaves by law, there is so much more that they could work with

I would assume she’s suggesting that others never got to “fly” (or be free) because they were in harmful relationships, and that fits with the overall theme of the track as well
