does anybody else feel like Ocean Blvd-Sweet-A&W are intentionally placed like this in the tracklist bc they're meant to be a cohesive storyline about Lana & Seans relationship at this point? I really don't like to give him so much "credit" but you know

Ocean Blvd is somewhat about the beginning of the relationship where she’s wanting to open herself up to him & start to be vulnerable, put her trust in him, share her secrets/traumas/ fears/dreams  etc.
"Open me up, tell me you like me, fuck me to death, love me until I love myself"

Sweet, based on what insiders have shared is really lovey dovey & includes lyrics about wanting kids/marriage. we already know Lana wanted these things with Sean from Blue Banisters, so this is like a continuation of that in a way just without the sad undertone- i think we might get to see how Lana felt when the relationship was at its “peak” , when everything felt amazing & she started to dream about the future with him cause she genuinely thought they were endgame

then we have A&W which of course signifies the downfall & her heartbreak, whatever happened (seemingly cheating/huge deceptions based on her tiktoks) was enough to make her lose all hope in love, at least for now & she’s in a darker place overall.
"It's not about having someone to love me anymore, no, this is the experience of being an American Whore"

n then the first interlude comes to sort of wrap it up/ break it up & the rest of the album doesn't follow a direct track - track storyline

I have such a good feeling about this album. Especially after the last two (particularly BB…) seeing Lana promote her work, post videos of her enjoying it, the high quality design and the interviews makes it feel like this is going to be a monumental album for her career. Idk

I still haven't heard A&W or DYK. I'm so hyped to get to hear the album in full, as was intended.

I adore listening to these 2 songs and just feeling the energy, the mystery, the distinct allure, of peak Del Rey. We now know she's got another song dropping sibling names (Charlie should stop smoking anyways lol says the vaper, I love her) and yet it feels like we know nothing of her at all. She is the last Hollywood starlet, who peels the curtain back to reveal her stage in life pretty frequently given her output, yet everything feels unknown. She never left, but with THIS, she is absolutely back. Album will SERVE

Well, I think saying Lana's family life is boring is rude too. And also when you insinuate that she owes us something because we "pay her bills".

I don't think you meant anything negative by this post, however, I really don't think the argument that she never sang about her family like this until Chemtrails is necessarily valid, and personally, I don't really think that the point makes sense. I have no issue with people not loving familial lyrics. That's totally fine because everyone has their own preferences and tastes, but don't pretend like you're making objective statements based on opinions. Also, when has Lana ever written a lyric like the one you gave an example of? The most she's ever done in the vein is mention Chuck by name in Blue Banisters, which she actually also does in Motel 6 as far as I know. It's nothing new and I really don't understand the weird aversion people have towards Lana's family.

Anyways, back to the album: I personally am really looking forward to the rest of this album's lyrical content. The two songs we've gotten so far are very powerful and strong lyrically. They manage to be this beautiful mix of metaphorical and blunt that just wows me every time. Lana proves time and time again that she is an incredible writer. I'm still not over the writing on the title track honestly. I'm just so excited to read the words to these songs and dissect them

BBS, Wildfire, Sweet Carolina, Old Money, BB are definitely not boring. Even if there's just one liners about her parents or siblings, she has still sung about them, even on unreleased songs. She's always been close with her siblings, and she has a niece (or nephew? idk lol) now so I don't think her singing about her family more is far fetched.

She just gave us a supreme bop with A&W....so I think the record is going to have a good range of subject matter

This is JB Hi-Fi, Australia’s biggest music retailer. I worked there for 5 years and I can tell you the album is DEFINITELY not being released by them on March 10. This would have been an old pre order slick they never changed out (because head office is lazy and doesn’t replace stuff like that) but being such a big retailer they have t o follow strict embargos much like the likes of Target in the US and the register will literally not even let you put something through before its official release date in accordance with the notices the labels send out

I get that everyone has different tastes and all that but why are some people acting shocked about the fact that she sings about her family in a retrospective record about her life

I'm so obsessed with her TikTok era actually. She's one of the only celebrities I actually think does it well because she's just being authentically herself

not she's rolling around on her bed in her underwear out of breath singing and moaning to her own song out of absolutely nowhere. this is really chaotic yet so her at the same time  in other words, we're in the middle of her next magnum opus
