I saw Lana live in 2014, 2015 and 2016 (she was the headliner at that festival) and she was always on time as far as I can remember. Her being late is really a thing from 2018 onwards. It's really note cute, never was, never will be. Showing up late at a festival is very different, because it actually affects how long you are allowed to be on stage, even if you are the headliner--most cities have noise ordinances and whatnot.

At least it's not like Madonna who continuously shows up 1, 2 and sometimes 3 hours late and isn't even sorry about it--but it's still unprofessional.

I’ve always thought it was unprofessional of her but she hasn’t toured for like four years so it’s just becoming talked about again. Also when you’re at festivals it’s a much stricter schedule and things like her sound being cut are more likely to happen.
Someone just needs to tell her that her set starts 45 minutes earlier than it actually does

    scariest songs to me::
pin up galore (all versions but the demo sounds creepier to me)
    disco
    money hunny
    a star for nick
    put me in a movie
    get drunk
lust for life (demo 2) not really scary but it has a darker vibe than the released

I don't think y'all know what head voice and chest voice are again it's not merely limited to lower vs higher notes lmao

    for example Sweet -
If you want some basic bitch go to the Beverly Center and find her - slightly higher notes but clear chest voice - full and warm, beautiful in tone
"if you wanna go where, nobody goes, that's where you'll find me" - clear head voice
"in the sweet north country, if I'm not there come to my house on Genessee" back to that clear chest voice, though the notes are not particularly low

Most non soprano singers use their head voice as an ornament rather than as a main feature
and I'm tired of all of you with no technical music background making nonsense critiques that essentially boil down to "I need something to complain about" like be fr omgggg it's tired!

I don't think I'll ever understand the point in being on this site if all you're here to do is complain about Lana  Like there's genuinely no reason for you to be on a fan site for somebody you very obviously don't like.

Anyways, I really loved this show, especially with it being her first one in 3 and a half years. I'm still in shock about Flipside being on the setlist though. That was probably the craziest part of the night and I loved it so much

Most festivals have to oblige to city's rules/laws, like they usually have to stop "making noise" past a certain time. For instance, the Coachella festival has to stop activities past a certain hour, otherwise they get fined for every extra minute (for which they usually do get fined)--in MITA's case, Lana pretty much said they would cut the power if she went on. 💀

The faces aren't the same but their stories all end tragically
And that's the price of fame
A tale as old as time
You'd be a pretty little fool to think exceptions to the rule just walk around like you and me

Anybody remember that seemingly fake Reddit post where the poster's BF apparently worked for Lana's tour team during the UV tour. The post said earlier in her career she would often be cloaked up and shuffled into the back of shady private events that gave her anxiety etc and that's where some of her 'problems' originated from... It's very similar to what was portrayed in the music video

I think it does, especially that in the MV she's shown wearing pearls and diamonds necklaces, that she refers as "candy', diamonds and pearl represent the money, fame and stardom in particular during Monroe era. She doesn't care about that fame anymore it's futile to her, she's oppressed by it (White noise coming out of my brain) Just like in 13 beaches she personifies fame as a lover (Sittin' on the sofa, feelin' super suicidal Hate to say the word, but, baby, hand on the Bible I do Feel like it's you, the one who's bringing me down Thought that we were cool and we were kickin' it like Tribe Called Quest You the best, but, baby, you've been bringing me down I can see it now ) What she was once obsessed with (BTD era, hence the hairstyle reference) is now something killing her.

Yes, it's not the only reference but a main inspiration I think, throughout the album, it's a retrospective on her carrer, this tunnel under ocean blvd. All the tracks discuss this internal dialogue. She's questioning what's important to her, should she continue down that road (fame and stardom) ? What's her legacy ? Does she need to concentrate on more important things ? (family, god)... Referencing old Hollywood stardom is not new to her but this time she's putting it into perspective (hence showing the BTS), it's not that glamorous to her anymore (that's why I'm not surprised by the MV as it pretty much reflects perfectly the themes she put out on the record.)

Yeah, that’s kinda what I was thinking too but I think her sibs recorded some of the bts footage and I can picture her being rude to them (normal sibling behavior)

I don't picture her being rude to the crew so I wanna say scripted

I don't know about failing the intelligence test.. I love the video but obviously there are going to be people who prefer a more professional, intentional, and well done video. It's not acknowledging the truth imo to pretend like anyone who doesn't like it doesn't get it. People can get it and have critiques

But for me personally.. lala ate down    and anyone who doesn't like it should re consider Lana's art and where she is right now, she's over all that (at this specific moment in time).... and also you guys should consider that you're literally proving the point of the music video.. that you guys want the movie version of her (the pretty film footage) and not the real version of her (the behind the scenes footage)

To me “where do we go from here” is her letting go of the expectations that have been put on herself not only from the industry but from herself. Doing the things that make her truly happy and not sticking to the norm. The whole album has revolved around self reflection and self acceptance.. so the visual actual ties it up pretty perfectly

It’s kinda ironic, because her latest album has echoed her earlier work too with the samples and lyric references.. and then I’m the MV with the glamour and it’s gotten everyone really excited. “Yay we got old Hollywood glamour back” or “we got her old sound back”.. but have we? Is that what she’s trying to do? In a sense I think, despite loving those aesthetics, she was at her unhappiest in those early days.. and felt maybe she was putting on too much of a persona.. I.E. world building

who knows where she is going from here.. I suppose only time will tell
