This is probably my favourite piece in all of Lana's poetry work. It's really emotional and hard hitting, especially if you're familiar with Sylvia Plath. I went to visit Sylvia Plath's grave recently and did a deep-dive into her poetry, came back home, read this (and reflected on some other references in Lana's work) and then broke down crying 

I need another poetry book from so badly, I wish we got this

So… I have this new job in Portugal’s only totally public media channel and I specially work in one of the channel’s sub-channel that exclusively transmits content and projects directly tied with scenic arts: concerts, operas, etc etc.
 
This summer our channel finally got the rights to have backstage access and be able to produce interviews and original formats and concepts in Primavera Sound… where Lana is performing 😭 not only do I have full backstage access but I also will be able to talk with her/perhaps do a little interview of sorts!!! I still can’t process this and I need y’all help to prepare good questions so I don’t repeat whatever that girl from the Blue Banisters IG live did when she had permission from Lana to ask anything and she asked if she said “whore” in Pretty When You Cry 

I need her to release a cover of My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)

I was listening to My My, Hey Hey today and the lyric it's better burn out than to fade away reminded me of this part of Lana's Times interview from last year....
 
“That’s why God didn’t give me children yet,” she says tenderly about what may or may not come next. “Because there is more to explore. I know people who’ve tested every water. I knew Lana wasn’t getting 💩 when she wasn’t even mentioned on the red carpet like they didn’t even know who she was

How did she not even win best alternative music album and performance? Like I've never even heard of boygenius and I like Paramore and all, but This is Why is such a mediocre song

I felt Lana’s awkwardness in my bones when Taylor dragged her onto the stage… But I think it came from a good place in Taylor’s heart and she was obviously planning on Lana standing closer to her when she dedicated part of her speech to her. Idk I have mixed feelings about this moment 🫠
 
Like I saw someone else say, their energy that whole night was giving black cat and golden retriever 😭 I wonder if they already knew how this would go.

Someone needs to sculpt a Grammy, smash it, repair it with kintsugi, and give it to her at whichever yeehaw show she's at next

Taylor thought she was having her Cady Heron breaking the tiara moment lmao Lana looked like she wanted to skin her alive. Honestly who tf cares about the Grammys anymore these days, I didn’t even watch it, it’s for old people & the most extremely mainstream artists, actual good artists never win

I know Taylor probably meant well but holy crap it must feel bad to be dragged on stage to be with someone who won a category you were nominated for (let alone should have won). I don't think it's malicious on Taylor's part but it still annoyed me seeing how uncomfortable Lana was. A part of me feels like this was yet again another one of Taylor's pseudo girl power moments but idk, I'm also aware I have my biases against Taylor considering how I always get phony vibes out of her.

I stan Lana, Bjork and Abel so I don't watch this garbage obviously. The only think that it did for me - alienate me even further from listening to that boring girlband. I hate when music is shoved down my throat and that's exactly what critics want with that album.

The good thing about Lana sitting next to Taylor is that the cameras love to show Taylor every single chance they get…so Lana should get some decent screen time! 

Emile Haynie spoke on the Podcast "How Long Gone" about Lana Del Rey and the beginnings of her career.
He mentioned that when he met her pre Born to Die, she had a MacBook she kept in her bag with her everywhere she went, with the video games music video on iMovie and was almost shy and nervous to even show it to people.
He also mentioned that Lana was not signed to anyone when they met, she was all on her own, trying to get people to see her vision...but for a long time no one did.
He also mentioned the studio he made at the Chateau Marmont, working with Father John Misty and Lady Gaga on an album.
