Tbh i don’t agree, i think in a lot of albums interludes are perfect for shaping an atmosphere…

And in the past few years i saw only rarely albums with interludes so I appreciate it when artists include them on their albums

I get what you’re saying completely but at the same time get sad when the videos have ones that aren’t on the album lol

If it were a longer album, I wouldn’t mind like @Thats why they call me Dita said. I understand what she was trying to do with Judah smith & Jon batiste, but I believe it would’ve been better to either keep one or combine them into one. I like interludes, but if it’s a short album, it usually feels like they're just adding more tracks to extend the album's length. I do love burnt Norton though, I think it was perfect for Honeymoon so I think sometimes it depends on the album. In my opinion, one interlude is sufficient. More than one feels unnecessary. I think most interludes could've just been added to a track anyways

Just to weigh in, for me, Lana's interludes are absolute filler tracks. Burnt Norton, the Trio, and the OB interludes can all be erased and it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference to the records. If anything, since the records are quite long, the albums would be crisper without them.

 

On the other hand, her features are much needed imo. Her voice, as gorgeous as it is, can be a little heavy over the span of an hour and sometimes up to 16 songs on a record. So, hearing ASAP rocky pop up, the Weeknd, or Father John Misty helps make things more dynamic, mixes things up, and adds to the world building. 

 

Between the two, I'd rather have features on The Right Person Will Stay.

with the album (apparently) coming out in May I don’t want a single until like February or March, because once we get our first single, and the pre release actually starts, that’s when it gets grueling 

because she is in her prime right now, with sold out stadium tours, huge spotify / streaming achievements, tiktok resurgence, her songs keep going viral from one to another, peak monthly listeners and random stuff like her working at waffle house, marrying an alligator guy, etc. Whereas during NFR era all we got to know about her  is her hanging out with her boring baddie friends who are just boring regular white girls in LA. It' good to see her change it up for her inner circles, i think she's with better people now (maybe except her Trump-supporting husbando of course)

If it was 13 tracks including interludes, collabs, AND a cover I would be disappointed tbh I crave original, full length songs those will always contribute more to the album than any interlude or cover could ever add

there are many interludes by other artists i really love and have listened to (even separately) but i think that the interludes in ocean blvd were really weak (even though I still like jon batiste's interlude). interludes should be in a ~20 track album but not in a 13 album track.

 

i also think that interludes take place of a possible amazing outtake, i mean look at the potential what zodiac had if it wasn't for those interludes.

 

as i also said, i'd agree with an interlude which has her singing.

If this was a bit more natural, it would be a great cover. Very Lana. And much better than the picsart selfie she posted.

 

Also, it would be super nice to have her man on the cover.  Only then would I be on board with the awfully didactic title. Hopefully, she sees this and goes in that direction.

Earlier today, I was just randomly reading Wikipedia articles about some folk fusion genres and found some really interesting ones:

Neofolk, also known as apocalyptic folk or folk noir

These seems really interesting concepts of folk music and I'd really like to see Lana experimenting with these genres in The Right Person Will Stay, especially since the first one apocalyptic folk almost reminds me of Southern Gothic but it's more witchier!
