i find it a bit concerning how people here look at a photo of her when she was really young and seem to think she must've had a nose job because of the fact that her nose looks slightly different compared to another photo taken around the same time, your face will look different in photos depending on the lighting, position of the face, quality of the photo, and the camera used

i don't really care if she had money or not what annoys me is her need to address things at times when it isn't even being talked about and she brings attention to it for no reason... like why

and i guess to add to the nose job discourse, it's clear in recent years she got filler, not a nose job. you can see (especially during bb era) that the bump started to come back and the tip wasn't as pointy and just recently when her face changed (again lol) the bump is smoother and her nose is more ski slope.

I think part of the problem is that a lot of people don't realise that one of the differences between being rich and being poor, is that if you're rich, you're always rich, but if you're poor/not rich, then some months you'll have money, and some months you won't have any money, so if you aren't taught how to handle your spending (which unfortunately is extremely common among those lower than upper-middle-class), when you have any money, there's a good chance you're spending it on things/experiences that someone looking on and judging you might assess as being frivolous. Every part of Lana's story checks out if you remember that she grew up in the 80s/90s, not the 1930s (when poor meant you never had anything).

what’s even more disturbing are the “fans” coming into this forum and accusing Lana of lying. There’s nothing uglier than when people pretend to be fans and then stab her in the back

i believe her, we all should
there’s no reason why she would lie about this stuff and she seems really tired when this subject is mentioned. as fans we should help her, instead some of you don’t believe her when this is HER story? like come on

i think she meant that they didn’t knew she was in new york singing to get her money and eat, before that all those little lizzy grant shows were just some kind of hobby

"I had a financial scholarship because I wasn’t rich and not from that town. That’s why I didn’t fit in because they called me white trash from Lake Placid which at the time was not a nice town unless you were visiting there as a tourist and had money to stay at the one nice hotel.
I got a scholarship because my uncle was in the administrative building and I didn’t even know I was going until a week before I was sent there so let’s clear that up, and as a copywriter, my dad didn’t make money and he quit when I was six months old and left to become a furniture worker and a real estate agent in the town of literally 900. So you can get your facts straight and they didn’t even know I was singing in New York until I was on Saturday night live an opportunity I was given, because I was already selling out Arenas in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, off the back of my videos and unreleased songs, even though I didn’t have a record.
I was one of the first people to ever play Saturday night live without a record even being out because in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, I was considered a phenomena. No one made me, that was nine years of hard work solo."

    cleared...

"That is true, my uncle was able to get me in without me even knowing that I was going, my mother worked in special education, and my dad made furniture and was a real estate agent. When he got into domains what he bought wasn’t worth anything until I was at least 22 and even then just because he bought them it didn’t mean that he could sell them. It wasn’t even until the last seven years that some of the words he bought became slightly more valuable. there were fights in the house constantly over money, and who would have to work two jobs to make enough. If you speak to anyone from that part of that private school or college, they wouldn’t even be able to tell you anything about me because no one spoke to me at either college or high school. The only friends I had were at my local public school that I left when I was 15."

and she replied to another comments

I'm just gonna throw my 2 cents about her lying about getting any work done to her face and leave:

no one (I mean in general) was admitting getting work done 10, 20 years ago. I vividly remember a random magazine comparing lana to adele saying how much lana was worse than adele because she had lip fillers... during that time lip fillers still weren't a trend and seen like a joke
of course it's stupid to lie about such things because we all have eyes and we're not stupid enough to believe someone's face will just change out of thin air, but the media/society was and still is fucking cruel about women's appearences. she was getting bashed and her music criticized because of fillers, her dad's income and the infamous SNL performance all at once.
that being said, at least she's now comfortable enough to not hide it, as she recently took a selfie with the doctor who gives her fillers

even if its not true (which it obviously is) she had to fight so hard to be accepted in the industry. she wouldnt have been the “nepobaby” people are claiming she was because she never had an easy way in and was hated for so long. why does it matter either way?

Why do people care sooo much about her personal life like that? Like constantly fact checking and peer reviewing everything she's ever said and done... who gives a fuck if things aren't adding up.

This!! People are so fixated on the domain names but If people took the time to actually read the "sources" they keep posting, they would see from the interview with Rob that domain names were way more expensive than they are now and along with the real estate, he was making insanely huge investments with no promise that they would pay off. It's very possible that her parents were middle class and could have been comfortable under different circumstances, but had no assets and had all of their money tied up in these insane investments (probably why there's so much emphasis on the arguments). It's not hard to believe at all that he had a decent job in the city, moved to Lake Placid (which wasn't the cushy place it is now, another moot point people are trying to make), blew all of their money on investments and lived below their means because of that, and started reaping the benefits after Lana was at Kent (meaning she never saw a dime).

Also I just want to point out that at my parents poorest, they were bankrupt, getting food from soup kitchens, and almost lost the house multiple times. But still paid for me to go on a school trip to Europe and sent me to a VERY expensive private university in NYC. I had scholarships and financial aid, but that's exactly my point. It's not impossible. And also maybe speaks to how even poor people handle their money and use what little of it they have.

I don't think the things people are posting to prove Lana is lying hold any real weight. There's way more nuance to this than people want to act like there is. As far as her saying her parents didn't know she was singing until SNL, I think she meant to the extent that she was. Knowing your daughter as Lizzy Grant performing in bars is different than knowing about publishing deals and the Lana Del Rey persona from the BTD era. Idk why her nose is being brought up, but girly clearly got her nose and lips done with that $10k advance, and being dishonest about plastic surgery (ESPECIALLY in 2012) is much different than fabricating your entire childhood and upbringing.

I feel like there's no way any real fan would claim the trailer park era was for funsies (not even gonna elaborate because iykyk) and I find it so strange that she took the time to make that video because she was so frustrated about being misunderstood, and her own "fans" are straight up calling her a liar and are going to weirdo lengths to try and prove it.

I don't know why people make conspiracies about her "secret child" when the more plausible answer is that she's probably talking about an imagined future child
